i'm happy to help because i know what torture it can be trying to find the answers....i've been using my investigative skills and it finally all came together....copper toxicity is inevitable with use of any sort of birth control especially the copper iud but mirena works in a similar mechanism in that it makes your estrogen levels rise by shutting off your natural progesterone, estrogen dominance makes you loose zinc and it raises copper....copper can make you feel mentally unstable ie racing thoughts, detached from reality, mood swings, cause major pms, migraines, uterine fibroids, cystic ovaries and breasts, buzzing/vibrating sensations (due to it being a strong electrical conductor), sluggish liver as copper is toxic to the liver etc etc....luckily it can be fixed fairly easily by taking the detox supps and a low copper diet. this can take about 3-6 months to complete and as you go your body learns to make progesterone again....i needed relief sooner so i used pregnenalone but i'm so glad i did, i went from being housebound with severe anxiety to going on vacation to a casino with my boyfriend within 3 weeks of starting preg.....copper detox was very tough for the first 3 -4 weeks because it made the symptoms worse everytime i took zinc but taking molybdenum and taurine with zinc really calmed down the symptoms, i recommend 2 resources, first look up the andy cutler protocol for copper detox and also get the book "why am i always so tired" by anne gettleman (sp?) her book was what i used for my diet but do not follow her detox as ALA makes you retain more copper in the bowels which is no good for us. i started this 3 months ago and the results have been astounding.....i was almost suicical and having a mental meltdown....my symptoms are still a bit more during
ovulation but it's WAY better than it was and i still have 3 more months on the detox since i was copper toxic for 5 years for others it may be shorter. also look at your milti vitamin if it has copper do not take it, a woman should never supplement extra copper we tend to retain it anyway. best of luck all, feel free to ask any questions and keep me posted on your progress...you will all get well our bodies want to heal and will do so is you give them the support they need. best wishes
