Hi,
Before I discovered the benefits of dry fasts, I fasted by drinking pure water - I water fasted only. When I gained some knowledge about a dry fast, I started using it either exclusively for 14 days or I first dry fast for 14 days and then I keep fasting with water for some period of time to achieve even deeper cleansing effect. My first dry fasts were, obviously, shorter than 14 days; I first dry fasted for a single day only, then for 2-3 days, followed by 7 and, finally, 14 days dry fasts. I started slowly and built my experience up.
Every day during fasts, both dry fasts and water fasts, I dry brush my body several times a day and then take a shower or a bath. I never rinse my mouth with water when dry fasting because it does not help at all; it even enhances the thirst and usually forces me to stop dry fasting earlier than I planned.
Taking hot/cold showers during dry fasts helps me a lot; They assist in withstanding the internal fever always present when I dry fast. On the contrary, I must take hot/warm long baths when I water fast because they allow me to bear the chill present when I water fast.
Love,
Anne
