Hello!
I just thought i would pop by to give you all a little education on vinegars. I feel i have that authority having researched vinegar over 6 years. I have linked most of my findings to the evidence or source, for everyone to read.
First I would like to point out that there is a very large scam going on with vinegars. The industry is far from transparent and lacks credibility from people like myself, who knows. One really must be street wise when dealing with vinegars and manufacturers.
My first port of call will be on Bragg's apple cider vinegar, it is not a scam at all...The fact that others post false information is the problem.
For someone like myself that takes vinegar very seriously has my hobby, I will say that Bragg's apple cider is good for many ailments, and served a purpose, still does.
However more specialist brewers of health vinegars are now in the market place, this is quite a problem for many multi-billion$ pharmacy companies who rely on selling drugs, even governments are against natural remedies, and most GP's will tell you all sorts of rubbish, in exchange for man made medicine, which causes more illness and side effect, in which they can make new medicine, its a vicious circle worth billions of $ and for sure, they will do all they can to keep vinegar on the bottom shelf.
Now after years of research and working with R&D departments the biotechnology field have developed vinegars for drinking all day every day. They come in 12 different flavours, and to be honest VOM FASS also doesn't come close, I know because i have seen these vinegar brands in competition at major exhibitions side by side.
The difference is that VOM FASS sells Balsamic vinegars, condiments for gourmet food, they are wonderful but they are not made for beverages, they are far too expensive.
The cheap supermarket Balsamic are just fakes, mixed with vinegar and fruit flavours, you could never expect to get a true balsamic at such a cheap price.
But major companies make alot of money by using very cheap ingredients.
Today I consider myself to be a connoisseur of vinegar, yet it is such a controversial area of discussion, with much hype and bull---T, You can blame all that on the people retailing it, who will do anything to sell it.
Now here's a tip to remember, there can only be 3 types of vinegar. 1, Is brewed vinegar 2, Is synthetic vinegar 3 Is a mixture of the first two.
So right away your apple cider becomes in a much higher ranking than most of the vinegars out there.
Secondly the materials used for brewing the vinegars are more important to understand, along with the anatomy of the human body.
Blowing the myth of apple cider is quite easy, for one thing apple cider is not a protein based vinegar, so isn't the main source of amino acids, which the metabolism and immune system need. Though Apple cider is rich in other nutrients and minerals, It lacks the essential amino acids.
The Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and Koreans are all historically involved in vinegars for health and wellness, the art of brewing has been handed down over thousands of years.
The vinegars on drinkingvinegar.com are of superb quality because they have been mothered by agricultural biochemists and the new biotechnolgy over the last 15 years, the break through in ready to drink vinegar beverages came in the SARS outbreak in China in which many people died. The demand for drinking vinegar was very strong and manufacturers couldn't fulfill the demand.
The reason Asian vinegars are more suitable for drinking is because they are made from Rice, which is more mellow after fermentation, the the best quality of Brown rice is used, as Brown rice, is a main protein source, in which you get the essential amino acids.
Read Adolf Krebs and Theodore Lynen both noble prize winners Krebs in 54 and Lynnen in 64, for their discoveries of the
citric acid cycle The Krebs Cycle and the immune system.
Once you understand the fundamentals of health, only then will you understand what health vinegars are all about.
Drinking vinegars come in 600ml glass bottles and dilute at a 5 to 1 ratio so you get 3 liters of beverage, with all the amino acids you require.
Amino acids are not stored by the body, they are used to create ATP, the currency of energy which is delivered to all the muscle groups. When i person feels fatigue, its because of a lack of amino acids, which is only natural if the body cannot store amino acids that the energy quality is effected, a bit like using 2 star gas, petrol in a sports car, the performance will be effected until the right fuel source is put in.
The human body is very similar to the car in many ways, it needs the correct fuel, and this cannot be made without the essential amino acids.
Look up on wikipedia Metabolism, ATP, and especially Red Yeast in which the Chinese put on the rice to make vinegar, the Americans actually stole the idea from natural Chinese traditional medicine, to make Statins in which the medical companies earn billions of $ on.
In fact all you need is Red yeast rice vinegar beverage which is natural. Statins are man made, with all kinds of side effects.
I hope i cleared some of the smoke. Always read what's in the vinegars and avoid sugar, artificial sweetener, look for natural fructose, not High Corn Fructose, there is a big difference.
The glycemic index rating of fructose is only 19,
Sugar is 100 and honey is around 55.
Drink brown rice vinegar for breaking down cholesterol on a daily basis, and also blood sugar. All food turn to glucose, but it's simple carbohydrates that cause diabetes as these enter directly to the blood, so watching the glycemic index rating of foods will help you to control the carbohydrate intake..
Having completely read the thread, also the scientific reports from Johnstone, I have my own theory after testing for over 6 months more than once, for the reasons of losing weight. To put the record straight on vinegar, it is not acetic acid, vinegar is a byproduct of organic acetic acid fermentation.
Distilled vinegar is made with acetic acid and distilled water, it does not have any health properties, though it is used in commercial vinegars to cut costs.
To say that there are many over zealous sales people would be more true, the vinegar industry is no different to any other industry. What does matter is the ethics of people, to be directly dishonest or to believe in something and preach it as true, as both pros and cons.
My wife has a business in vinegar with 2 other partners, I am not a shareholder, though i am indirectly involved as I have made it a hobby to discover the truth of vinegar for myself and no one else at the time.
I am transparent and make no judgements, as I do believe in apple cider vinegar for health, I also believe in Balsamic vinegar for gourmet food as it is far too expensive for drinking to reap the benefits. Normal malt vinegar is also healthy provided it is not mixed with synthetic vinegar, though its not nice to drink.
Vinegars that are 5% and over are not meant to be drinking vinegars, though dilution will make them acceptable. Balsamic vinegars are very nice and much better in health benefits than apple cider, I have the full report, and posted the link to the source.
I predict within 10 years ready to drink drinking vinegars will be available globally at very reasonable prices, though it will take the people around the world to make it come happen.
So you are all invited to help the cause, to fight obesity, and preserve life, after all vinegar is a preservative of life. Be it through psychological means or not, the health proof of functional benefits are there.
I always say, I'll give you the test which can prove it, its very simple to prove, by taking blood tests before drinking it and thereafter every month for as long as you want. Stop drinking vinegar, and your body pH will suffer if your diet is not correct. When i say correct I mean the body requires a continuous flow of amino acids to remain optimised, that is essential. So drink with every meal and also when doing sports or exercise, as this is when ATP gets exhausted
