In case it matters before I started the Diflucan I was rarely constipated. Does that make a difference on which one is best for me?
The best way to deal with both constipation and yeast/fungi is to restore the flora. The flora generate the majority of the body's serotonin. Among the many functions of this serotonin is regulating intestinal peristalsis. The flora also generate acids that suppress Candida growth and keep it from going fungal.
Kefir and cultured foods help to reestablish the flora. Make to to ferment them long enough to use up the sugars. And fibers will feed the flora and allow them to generate their acids. Rice bran or oat bran are my favorites. Avoid psyllium since it is hard on the intestines and tends to cause bloating.
