Okee dokee everybody...remember when I promised I'd never be "politically correct" if it meant I couldn't say the truth? Yep, this is one of those times. That doesn't mean my words are "judgmental" it just means I'm "identifying" what I clearly see and know. And I sincerely hope you/Akkilk don't take this "personally"....I have absolutely no anger or bad feelings while I'm typing this - just concern for you (and others reading).
Firstly, this forum is based on the works and protocols of three extremely accomplished healers. It's devoted to the support of those protocols. Sure we all can ask questions about the 'why's' of these protocols, but this isn't the place for debating them...and certainly not for recommending against them.
My desire? That this post/information will be utilized in the spirit in which it is intended (to correct misinformation on this forum, and to assist Akkilk positively on her healing pathways). However, I understand if it's not accepted or utilized...because even the most mature of us generally respond negatively when our belief systems are challenged (especially publicly)...and frustratingly, the 'meat issue' IS a belief system that's as deeply embedded into us as our spiritual and political belief systems (perhaps, even more so). Akkilk, I'm sorry I'm correcting your post so strongly, but since what you've posted conflicts with the healing tenets & truths of truly natural healing (as taught & proven by the healers upon whom we base the protocol), I can't think of any other option. Besides, there are thousands of people like yourself that need to understand the truth. Onward...
Everyone's dna is different. Yep, it's like cars...we're all are different makes & models, but we all run on exactly the same schematics. The dna is the 'make & model'. Some people need animal protien and everyone needs fat. We all need protein, of course...but we do not "need" animal flesh to get adequate levels of protein. Saturated and not. And we all need healthy fats, of course. Your muscles are wasting because you aren't eating enough. It's unlikely that we/she actually knows that 'muscle wasting' is the cause of her symptoms, and there are MANY causes of muscle-wasting that have nothing to do with whether or not one is ingesting animal flesh. I always suggest before offering advice to others (on this forum or others, but particularly this one)...that we read the complete posting history of the person we're responding to BEFORE responding. We recently learned that sherriberrie likely expelled a tapeworm, so likely/possibly has a tapeworm infestation (and other parasites?) - and we know that's definitely a cause of lack of vital nutrition and symptoms of all kinds. And she recently got out a LOT of plaque after colon cleansing and a liver flush - there's likely much more to come (so there's definitely been a lack of assimilation there).
Also, the information in this post is VERY important: Juice fasting, gaining weight and losing weight and it includes FAR more data than what's in the title. Be sure to pay close attention to the 'clogged receptor site' issues mentioned. Also Akkilk, Miss H has been through a LOT of 'life issues' that are similar to yours in many ways - if ever you care to take the time, reviewing her posts on this forum (and her experiences before she started IPing) would likely be extremely beneficial to you along your healing pathways.
I know everyone on this forum says vegan vegetarian, but the truth is, you might be able to do a fast, but you can't live forever healthy like that. Everyone on this forum doesn't "say" vegan/vegetarian, but we do have the common sense to utilize the protocols of healers that have consistently and safely cured the most insidious of incurable diseases....and none of them allowed animal flesh during the healing process. And yes, you can live forever as a vegan (but of course, you have to do it properly...and few people are willing to learn enough and make the lifestyle changes required to do that).
Fat is not bad. Fat is actually necessary and good. But just like carbs it needs to be in balance. Eat balanced and you will feel better. Juicing is great though, and keep it up, but add to your diet. The Gerson protocol cured tens of thousands (and continues to cure thousands more) with nothing but 1-3T of flax seed oil daily.
It was trying to be vegetarian that got me sick in the first place. I am def incorporating a lot of the good advice in this forum, and it has helped tremendously, but I know better than to cut out protien and fat for me, because I know where it led me before. Where it led "before" is where it led when your body was in a totally different state than it is now. When you tried to be a vegetarian before, did you do it after (or while) you'd done organ cleansing to ensure your organs and digestive tract could assimilate & utilize everything you were eating? Had you replenished all your gut flora while ingesting various natural sources of microbiota to ensure assimilation? Were you juicing regularly? Organic? Including plant sources of B12? Eating all varieties of toxic, canned 'dead foods'? Other poisons & toxic supplements? Were your beans, legumes and grains sprouted to prevent the action of enzyme inhibitors? Etc., etc., etc., the list of why vegans and vegetarians fail (and then blame 'vegetarianism') is endless.
Please take care of yourself, and if something is not fitting properly, don't keep doing it no matter how someone else tells you what you need. You and your body know what you need. Add juicing and superfoods to an already balanced diet. No one person knows everything. You need to take bits and pieces from everyone you learn something from to make what works right for you. I agree that we all should listen to our doctor within, but I also agree that most people are SO conditioned with the writings and methodologies of allopathic and alternative science and practioners (and SO out of touch with true healing AND their body), that they commonly misdiagnosis themselves and do not have a clear understanding of what their body and doctor within is saying. The healing schematics and intelligence of our body defies science and our scientific conditioning/thought processes.

Working with my doctors, we have found what my problems are, and they are advocating juicing as much as possible, but my problems came direclty from trying to cut out animal fats and protiens. Yep, that'd be something your 'doctors' would definitely suggest.
I think I can safely assume that what you actually know for sure, is that certain symptoms presented themselves when you stopped ingesting animal flesh and fat (however you went about doing that, and with all the variables that were present in your diet and body at the time). But I can assure you, that all your problems did not come directly from not ingesting animal flesh and fat. And to assume that they did...(in some someone as compromised and 'out of whack' as you've posted you are and have been, and with all the unnatural supplements you've ingested)...is not only illogical, but very dangerous/risky for your health & healing. :(*
There is great information that would enhance/increase your knowledge level in the three links in this post - I think you'll find the information extremely beneficial: Regarding Protein, Juicing, and Healing
This causes a lack of essential fatty acids required for hormone synthesis, but cutting out meat & dairy (when done properly) does NOT cause a lack of essential fatty acids. and both my thyroid and adrenals crashed simultaniously. Of course, there are dozens (hundreds?) of reasons for thyroid & adrenal issues. Someone that's intrinsically healthy could go without essential fats for a very long time without seeing symptoms...and replenishing them would correct the symptoms immediately (IF that were the sole cause). With that, my immune system also takned, allowing for an infection to take over my gi. GI infections can 'take over' even when the immune system is adequate. A "tube" (alimentary canal) that's laden with putrefying organic matter supports infections - it's virtually impossible for the immune system to beat a pathogen when the pathogen is swimming it what it knows as "ultra high grade nutrition". 'Seems like I'm remembering (from where I don't recall) that you've not had colds, flu or other infections that indicate low immunity (???). Hmmm. I am now in the process of trying to identify the infection, and fix the defficiencies. I am defficient in zinc and stomach acid. That is why I am having difficulty breaking down protiens. This has all created a vicious cycle. ??? So you're having problems breaking down proteins and ingesting protein in the form of animal flesh (that's THE most difficult for your body to break down?...particularly with a lack of stomach acid?) Please remember that a deficiency must be addressed at it's cause (which is rarely a lack of supplements) - the reason for the deficiency is the most important issue.
I have to work very hard to build everything back up again. It's a full time job. I initially felt great doing the vegan thing, but even after I started feeling not so good, I kept doing it because it's healthy right? It's only healthy if it's done correctly. And yes, after all the IV's and supplements, you will have to work hard to restore your balances (even trickier if one has adrenal issues). Well it wasn't for me. I was nursing at teh time as well, and depleted my b12 stores. Well, there you go - being a vegetarian without ensuring adequate B12 is definitely dangerous and unhealthy. I almost cause permanent nerve damage. This is why I am so careful. I literally almost died. 'Sorry to hear that!
I know people question why I don't give up protien and fat completely, and this is why. I know that doesn't work for my body and my system. Because of what I did, I barely digest food now. It is going to take a good while to reset my system, and I am hoping and praying there won't be any permanent damage. I take everything in, and put it all together for what will help my system best recover. The body's ability to restore itself is phenomenal - and it certainly has the ability to restore itself from much worse damage than what you've incurred. The only question is (the same for everyone) are we willing to learn, unlearn and do what it takes to assist the natural body in ways that are truly natural (and that we have the empirical evidence of decades/centuries that prove they work), or are we going to rely upon today's scientific paradigm (that in almost all ways, works totally against the intelligence and ability of the body to heal & restore).
Each of us definitely has the right to choose whatever healing (or non healing) pathways upon which we want to journey. On this forum, we've chosen to utilize the proven methodologies & protocols of healers that work with the body, and are so complete and natural that they has reversed and eliminated THE most insidious and incurables of all diseases & physical compromise, thousands of times over half a century. And these protocols (and this forum) certainly do NOT mesh with or support today's 'scientific paradigms' or the practicioners and supplement companies that make their living promoting it.
Choose wisely! :) And know that we're always here to assist in natural healing protocols whenever/ifever you want to chose natural healing.
Blessings always -

The choice to eat animal foods is an individual one. You can get all the protein and fats your body needs when following a vegan food program. I hope the list below offers some help in putting together a food program that will supply your body with what is needed for you to be healthy.
The only time you need to limit the foods you consume is during a juice fast.
Basic List of Vegan and Healing Foods:
distilled or reverse osmosis water
live/organic/raw/unprocessed/unfiltered/unheated/whole foods;
fruits, vegetables, herbs/herbal teas
soaked/sprouted nuts, seeds, grains and beans
fermented/cultured/kefir foods and beverages
SuperFoods
organic raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar
raw unheated unfiltered honey
blackstrap molasses
Sippery Elm
non-active nutritional yeast
healthy oils [plant-sourced]: organic, unrefined, cold-pressed, virgin; [examples: coconut, olive, sunflower, flaxseed]
Potassium Broth
Water
Howdy sherriberrie! :)
Well I will tell you that so far this whole regimen has been awesome and I have felt better. Fantastic!
I think my liver is alot of the problem so I really don't want to get back to eating alot of meat Always a very wise choice - there's lots of ways to get adequate amounts of protein that are FAR less stressful to the body!. But last night my body was really craving some protein so I grabbed the chicken. But I can feel it is making my liver ache just a little right now. I just didnt know what else to do ..I understand completely (that craving, whether it's actually for protein or something else). It might have been protein you were craving, but dead animal flesh is the hardest for our body to deal with and process...as you found out.
One thing you can do is to "pre sprout" a few cups/servings of your favorite bean. 'Just put them in a pan with pure water and let them soak overnite, then rinse them thoroughly and put in them in the freezer. Next time a craving happens, throw 'em in a pot of water, boil them, and a few 'tidbits' for flavor...and 'munch on'! (I like putting a few tablespoons of health oil in a skillet and sauteeing some onions, garlic, shallots or whatever 'herb du jour' I might have on hand that's fresh, and then mixing that with the cooked beans. Raw? nope, but we do allow ourselves non-raw foods...and Dr. Christopher did allow one or two servings of chicken or fish weekly (but never when on his IP, and always ensuring the dead flesh was NOT toxic)
I have superfoods on order from Uny so maybe that will help. Oh yes, that will help (maybe a lot), there's easily assimilated protein in the nutrional yeast. In fact, the yeast is "one half protein" (so a tablespoon of nutritional yeast is a 1/2 tablespoon of protein...whatever that weighs in grams). And another thing I do if I sense that's it protein I'm craving? Rice and "Cheese" (with steamed veggies or not). Again, presoaking/sprouting the rice is optimal (even if we're cooking to cook it...I keep 4-8 baggies of pre-soaked rice in the freezer to save time). Then cook the rice as usual, steam some veggies, and mix in a great big dollop of this "Cheese sauce"
Here's my customization of the 'internet recipe' for (VERY yummy!) "cheese sauce" made from nutritional yeast:
Put all dry ingredients in a saucepan, mix thoroughly, get a whisk, turn on the heat, add the oil & water (or milk) and start whisking. Keep whisking until it thickens (add chili powder for awesome 'nacho cheese'!!). This can easily be "too thick" if not mixed into something immediately (and gets even thicker as it cools), so don't hesitate to add more fluid.
TOTAL YUM...hot, gooey and definitely cheezy. You won't believe how much it tastes like "velveeta" (RIP Velveeta, I once loved you SO much! lol) Here's the cheapest place on the 'net to get nutritional yeast in bulk (far cheaper than any store): http://tinyurl.com/y5awso
Be sure to read through this post (and the links in it) regarding "protein" http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1667437#i
I am wondering what form of Protein would be the easiest on the liver and on digestion. I really dont wanna do dairy because it clogs me up(liver and digestion). But at the same time I know I need some good protein. The Superfood has some protein (due to the nutrition yeast); the 'cheese sauce' above is awesome (or you can just sprinkle the yeast on steamed veggies - it tastes very similar to parmesan cheese)...and of course, sprouted nuts & seeds (and the nut/seed milks) are wonderful. Mung bean sprouts are ULTRA high in protein and ultra easy to sprout..and very VERY inexpensive, too
Also do you think it's just the B12 I am missing that is giving me that feeling? Hmmm, since B12 is something we need only very tiny amounts of,and since we store a lot of it - most people don't see symptoms of B12 deficiency for a long time (sometimes a year or more). So I doubt that was what it was you experienced; there's plenty of B12 in the nutritional yeast, so you'll take care of that either way.
From my post above, I just want to make sure you see/read this:
Also, the information in this post is VERY important: Juice fasting, gaining weight and losing weight and it includes FAR more data than what's in the title. Be sure to pay close attention to the 'clogged receptor site' issues mentioned.
It sounds to me (from what I've seen you posting) that you're progressing wonderfully and doing great things to assist your body in healing and restoring. We're looking for that "steady upward trend", but it's almost assured there'll be a few occasional 'dips' in the graph lines....and many times those lil' dips are SO hard to figger out! When we're dealing with parasites, die-off, organs in varying states of congestion and decongestion, and lots of toxins being released, it's near impossible to determine "precisely-exactly" what occured in the body. This is but one of zillions of reasons I suggest that we all follow the protocols of healers that have stood the test of time (for tens of thousands of people). We may not know what those lil' blips are, but we know if we 'stay the course, we'll continue on that 'steady upward trend'.
Keep up the good work...and don't hesitate to share whenever you're experiencing 'blips n' dips'!
Healthiest of blessings,
Unyquity
