Hi guys,
This is the 1st time I'm posted but have lurked here a lot over the years. I'm currently on a candida regime consisting of lufenuron, candex, magnesum, healthy fats (EPO, Krill), and pre and probiotics (all of which I tolerate well).
I took my first round of lufenuron about 1 month ago and had the worst die-off ever (joint pain, headaches and vaginitis so bad that my skin cracked). Even though you are meant to take every 3 weeks I was holding off until my period was over because I can't deal with that & die-off at same time but now my period is late which never happns. So thoretically there is no lufenuron in my body right now.
My die off symptoms were improving but have worsened in the last week in the form of a red, cracking rash in my butt crack (have had this before with diflucan) and slightly worse vaginitis (but more of a stabbing itch sensation which I hate!). So it must be either die-off or an allergy to one of the new supplements I have started in the last week. They are
1. Digestive enzymes (accidetaly bought vegetarian ones which I have a vague recollection of reading are derived from fungal sources!)
2. Phosphatidylcholine derived from soy lecithin (I'm fine with soy)
3. High dose biotin.
The latter is what I suspect to be causing it as I have been doing a fair bit of reading about biotin and sure I was low on it due to low levels of lactobacillus (confirmed by CDSA) and possible genetic pre-disposition (lots of alopecia and seb dermatitis in my family).
So at the end of all that spiel I guess I was wondering whether anyone can weigh in on what may be going on. I know biotin doesn't kill candida as such but if it prevents candida switching to mycelial form then can the mycelial form that already exists die?
Thanks for any input. I feel like I'm fighting a war of attrition sometimes!!
