Mate I found right now on the internet this report from another sufferer:
Seems an important coincidence with my case...
He uses Baking Soda on a different way
---------------------------------------------------------
i,
I have been fighting terrible seb derm on my face, behind my ears,
scalp for about 17 years. I am very fair skinned, very thin skin, with
veins on right up on the skin surface, easily flush, very bad
allergies ie fragrances, cannot put anything on my skin (lotions,
creams, soaps), cannot rub my skin, have atopic dermatitis (water from
shower cannot even hit directly on my face)etc...
I am 38 and live in So Calif. I played sports my whole life even into
college. I unfortunately didn't know what I had until after college
and by that time what I had done to my skin made it too late to
prevent, the damage was done. Often traumatic events can trigger
diseases.. and the weakess spots suffer the most (my face). I used
alcohol based sunscreens every day for 6 hrs a day burning even before
sun exposure. I would then go home and wash it off with harsh
cleansers. I repeated this process for so many years.. not knowing the
damage I was doing cuz this is what the derms said I needed to do to
prevent sun cancer.
Without going into any more depth.. I have until rencently not been
able to wash my face and having seb derm, you have to get that stuff
off so your skin can breath. But I am just too allergic so nothing was
the least evil that I could live with. Anything else would cause
reactions ie breakouts and rashes.
If it works for my skin.. I think I can safely recommend to anyone. I
have tried things that have worked for a short period of time, but
would always build up a tolerance and react to it within a week or 2.
I am now using "BAKING SODA ONLY" on my face as my cleanser, oil
absorbant, and exfoliant. Yes baking soda only!! I have now used it
for going on 6 weeks and the results have been fantastic. My skin
appears to be amazingly getting better week by week. My skin has
always been so incredibly sensative with my veins close to the surface
due to many bad sunburns, allergic reactions, auto immune reactions
etc.. When I was younger (before this all started happening), my skin
would be very light almost white with freckles (of course being a red
head), but it reacts to everything now and looks like I'd been out in
the sun getting terribly burned every waking moment for the past 16
years, even computer and lamps burn my skin. I also used
Antibiotics
when young and when combined with the sunscreens and sun, I have now
permanent burned areas from my temples - under cheeks - nose and sides
of face.
Now with this skin regimine my skin actually appears to be much less
red, a calming affect with much less inflammation that feels much
better.
The way I use the "BAKING SODA" is:
In the shower, sprinkle in the palm, wet enough to rub into paste, rub
lightly on desired wet areas in upward - outward and circular motion.
Rinse of. Do the same on another area and rinse, repeat until all
affected areas have been lightly scrubed. You can leave on for a min
or 2 to increase absorbtion if you desire. I have very oily, crusty,
flaky areas so at first I left on for a minute to help get rid of the
oil embedded in my pours.
When you exit the shower, pat dry (do not rub). You will feel an
immeditate wonderful pour tightening experience. Your skin should be
tight and glow like a facial scrub but since you are using natural
"BAKING SODA", you should not have the negative chemical
contraindications. There is no fragrance, or residue left behind.
I use this routine every other night before bed. For me this is plenty
to get rid of the oil, wax and skin cell accumulation. I have
psoraisis type skin accum (really bad) so this is perfect to
exfoliate. The baking soda is so gentle because it is very fine and
consistent grain (not like any other scrub product that will rip your
skin to shreds).
Please give this a try and share with me and others your results. I
heard about this routine years ago (cheap and natural
products in the home that you can use for skin care and other house
cleaning).
Some of you may not want to use but 1 or 2 times a week. It's really a
subjective thing. I can't think of anyone being as bad as me for seb
derm but I know there are probably those out there with worse.
Please again post your results and you can email me as well. I hope
you all give this a try. Remember there is no guarantee, so be
cautious and try at your own risk and if you react badly, please stop
using.
Regards to all my seb derm and possibly P sufferers.
