Haha sorry about all the posts, but just read up on "hyperparathyroidism", could that cause a big lump in my neck, because I had one of them when I was on high protein?
A lump in the neck again can have various causes. A parathyroid cyst, a swollen gland or lymph node, etc.
I need some tips on figuring out what though?
That is something that cannot be done over the internet. Your best bet would be to have your parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels checked first.
Also I still get the red feet after a bath, they look like theyve been scolded, and if I take large dose vitamin E I dont get that! So the E is helping with something?
Sounds like the heat is causing your blood vessels to over dilate. Vitamin E can help prevent this because it supports the endothelial cells of blood vessels helping them to maintain proper tone.
Also noticed on my test results I was very low in sodium also. High in calcium, low in vitamin D. Dont no the link between these 3. But high protein (high meat) lead to high urine frequency, hair loss, and all the rest, which has never changed tbh.
Low sodium can result from vomiting, diarrhea, kidney or liver problems, too much water and vasopressin deficiencies.
High protein intake can also lead to calcium displacement, especially red meats. This also puts the kidneys at risk for damage, especially if you are not drinking enough water. And the high protein also puts more stress on the liver due to the increased ammonia load.
and also, i seem to notice my bones on my head being more prominent at the same time, like more sculptured, that could just be me but im not sure im sure they are more sculpturued like they moved, got thinner, changed, hard to describe
Not sure what to say there. Generally the bones don't move except in rare cases like Paget's disease. But you would have thickening, not thinning in this case.
Spotted another of your posts on calcium and blood pressure. Well dug out my test notes from Biolab, I had higher than normal serum calcium and was massively vitamin D deficient. I never had these results re done, albeit recently ran out of vitamin D supplement and my hair loss has gotten worse. Wonder if there is any link to my high protein, potential kidney issues from this. I also took potassium once and think it helped with my balance. Hmm? Any thoughts?
Hyperparathyroidism comes to mid. This is one of the most common sources of hihg serum calcium and can be caused from low vitamin D levels.
Ps - just been on my exercise bike, about a minute in I got that metallic taste, and after 5 mins or so I was itching like absolute mad!! Any ideas?
Metallic tastes can have a number of reasons from metal exposure, which can also displace calcium, to bleeding gums, medications, kidney problems............
Itching is also a tricky one. The most common reasons though include allergies or liver issues.
What do you suggest I do/test now then about the vitamin D and Calcium thing?
Exposure to sunlight or full spectrum lamps could help. And fish oil is a good source of vitamin D. Vitamin D supplements are generally in the form of vitamin D2 or inactive D3 Conversion to active D3 requires a properly functioning liver and kidneys. So hopefully you kept your organs in good shape.
