I always love these statements; of course it has nothing to do with Lyme and its co-infections or parasites or anything else internally "unresolved"...

The title of this is bogus - there has been no loss of life and the article is full of misinformation. Robert J Zieve, MD should be ashamed to put his medical license on the line for misleading potential patients. The Arizona Medical Board has been asked to look into just that. They, unfortunately work in secret and probably we will never find out unless we go to Prescott some day and find Zieve's clinic closed. Zieve can not even get the name or sex right of Leuren K Moret, the Berkeley, California, flake anti-DU, pro-Neo Nazi activist, who he claims to quote. Moret is female and the name is Leuren, not Lauren. She has a BS in Geology but is not known to have actually worked in the field in any capacity. She did graduate work in Geochemistry at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory but it had nothing to do with uranium or radiation and Moret misrepresents that period of study as her being employed at this DOE laboratory for five years. Later, she worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Senior Scientific Technologist in the Center for Applied Scientific Computing from 1989 to 1990. She is not known to have had any meaningful employment since which is why she claims to be an "independent scientist" - I guess that "independent" means no one will hire her. The scientist part is very questionable since she has no real Science under her belt - no field or lab research that has anything to do with her self-styled expertise in depleted uranium. The Neo Nazi connection, though is much easier to establish. Moret appeared in "Beyond Treason" - the person behind that mocumentary is David Von Kleist and Von Kleist was the master of ceremonies at the The Barnes Review/American Free Press gathering in Washington DC that is gleefully recounted at the chairmanofthenordwave blog - chairmanofnordwave.blogspot.com who introduces a close Moret associate and fellow pseudoscientist con artist Douglas Lind Rokke aka Doug Rokke, aka Dr Rokke (the Dr is not medicine or physics, but rather vocational education (for non-Americans, that is high school for kids who do not intend to go to college), aka Major Rokke (Major, retired US Army Reserve, not the active Army, but Rokke effects a style of being a "warrior" despite never having served in combat with a 40 year career without telling you that most of it was spent in the corn fields of Illinois. -- These, people are two of the leading con artists in the anti-depleted uranium crusade that was started by Saddam Hussein back in 1992 because he wanted out from under the UN Sanctions that ended the Gulf War. Depleted Uranium kinetic energy penetrator rounds were developed after the 1973 War - they were not used in that war because they were not needed (they were developed to penetrate modern Soviet tank armor, the Egyptian and Syrian armies did not have modern tanks - their tanks were WW-II/Korean War vintage and steel armor piecing shells would penetrate their armor) and because they did not exist. DU was used in the Gulf War, in 2003 in Iraq and in the 90's in the Balkans to destroy Serbian tanks. No one is fighting tanks anywhere today. The next time that DU would be used (if ever again because it is becoming obsolete) would be if the North Korean army's tanks started crossing the 38th Parallel to reopen the Korean War. DU is not being used in Iraq or Afghanistan today because there are no targets. DU is used only in kinetic energy penetrators, long small diameter rods fired from tank and certain aircraft cannon. DU is not used in bombs and DU is useless against any other target than a tank.


Gulf War veterans were found to have DU in their clothing, bodies, and semen; 67 percent of them have offspring with birth defects.

This entire sentence is false. DU was not found in clothing. It washes out. DU has been found in a very small number (less than 75) of soldiers who were hit by pieces of DU shrapnel in friendly fire incidents. Not a single one of these soldiers has gotten sick or had any ill health effects from DU. DU has never been found in semen, but it sounds really horrifying doesn't it? No soldiers have had offspring with birth defects caused by DU. (One makes that claim, but it is false)

Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and chronic neurological conditions are much more common among them than in the general public.

These may be Gulf War Syndrome (Gulf War Illness is the name that this was given in 2008) symptoms, but DU has been found to have nothing to do with GWI.

Lauren Moret, eminent scientist, has stated that DU is the main cause of Gulf War Syndrome.

"Leuren" (there is no "Lauren") Moret is not an eminent scientist. Moret has a BS in Geology and to my knowledge has never actually worked or taught as a Geologist. Moret has no knowledge of what causes Gulf War Syndrome, but is a very active self-promoter and seller of snake oil in her travelling medicine show. Moret is a superb show woman but her talks are peppered with lies.
