Hi everyone,
I'm hypothyroid, as my symptoms, lab tests and temperature tests show. I have been hypothyroid for many years (although I only found out a few weeks ago) and have so far not undertaken any measures to get relieve.
A few days ago I read about fluoride and how it can cause hypothyroidism. It's proven that Fluoride inhibits the absorbtion of
Iodine into the Thyroid Gland. And without enough
Iodine the thyroid cannot produce enough thyroid hormones, which causes Hypothyroidism.
It then came to my mind, that I have been
using a special toot-gel (which you only get at the pharmacy) that has an extra big dosage of fluoride for many years. A dentist once reccomended this tooth gel to me.
On the gel-tube it sais:
"Put 1 centimeter of the gel (= 0,5g of tooth gel or 6.25mg of FLUORIDE onto the toothpaste and brush teeth. Rinse after 2-3 minutes. Do this once per week"
Here's what I did:
1. I used 2 centimeters (=cm) for the upper row of teeth and 2
cm for the lower row of teeth. So I used 4cm in total instead of 1
cm as suggested.
2.I brushed my teeth with it for 10 minutes instead of 2-3 minutes
3. I would just spit it out after brushing and not rinse with water
4. I used it twice per week instead of once for several years (at least 6, maybe up to 10)
5. On the other 5 days, I brushed using a toothpaste with the common dose of 1200 ppm of Fluoride (also for 10 minutes)
So basically I brushed my teeth with 50 mg of plain Fluoride each week . Of course that doesn't mean, that I got 50 mg of Fluoride into my body, because I didn't swallow it. But I did brush very long (10 minutes) and it is known that fluoride is absorbed through mucous membrances. Furthermore I did not rinse with water which gave the fluoride the entire night to be absorbed into my body. Plus there is sometimes a tiny bit that one swallows when brushing.
It's very interesting to know, that HYPERthyroidism (which is the opposite of Hypothyroidism) used to be treated with fluoride.
The dose of fluoride found to depress the thyroid gland is 2.3 to 4.5 mg/day. I brushed with 50 mg per week which would translate to 7.1 mg per day, which is far more than what has been found to depress the thyroid. - Again I did not swallow that. - But do that for 6-10 year, 10 minutes twice a week, don't rinse with water afterwards and then use another thoothpaste 5 times per week, which also has good amounts of fluoride in it, ann I can very well imagine it'll have an effect on the thyroid.
This is not a 100 percent sure to me (as to being the only cause of my hypothyroidism), but it does make a hell lot of sense. So what do I/we learn from this?
-Make sure not to get any fluoride into the body (Change your toothpaste to a non-fluoride one)
-In the US Fluoride seems to be very present in the drinking water , so you'll probably want to use distilled or reverse-osmosis-filtered water.
And what can we do, to get out the fluoride that is already in our body. - Maybe Uny can jump in here. All I know is that charcoal does not seem to bind Fluoride so well. I dont't know about
Bentonite Clay. Maybe the fasting, Cold Sheet treatments, Sweating will help. I also know that
Iodine will bind the Fuoride and also other bad substances like Bromide and get them out. The best natural source of Iodine seems to be Kelp. Would it make sense for everyone to take a good dose of Iodine?
Here's what I'm planning to do:
- Of course no more tooth gels or pastes with fluoride
- Replenish my Iodine levels (which are very low according to lab tests) with kelp. I don't know how much kelp I should take.
I will see wether my thyroid will get back to normal by dumping the fluoride gels/toothpastes and trying to get the fluoride out while replenishing my iodine levels with kelp.
Ok, so let's get rid of the fluoride. Let me all know what you think,
healthy blessings,
Solmare
