Oh my, I do not know when or how I got to this site, but it was bookmarked and I am glad I saved it.
Long story short, about 2 months ago , I kept seeing these little blackish/bluish tiny hairs on my body, as well as around the sink area, but I mean tiny not noticeable to the naked or insensitive Dr. as you will see.
I did not think for a minute that they were coming from me, but as I surveyed my skin, I started to wig out, they were coming from me, 1st mistake , I got a pair of tweezers and started to poke around well....... 4 hours later I looked like a war zone, I took some photos of my arms and sent them to a few select people and they were taken aback. This new past time of {looking for fabric} started to take of a lot of my time.
It sort of snowballed and fast ,I have insomnia as it is but at the height of this episode, I had not slept for 3 possibly four nights and I would sleep walk to the mirror and use the tweezers.
Then I started to notice random streaks of black on my body and they were gone as fast as they came, another one of the strange things that was going on was I swear to G my hair from my head looked as if it was moving on its own and would rub across my face and aim for a larger pore, over and over my friend and I watched as my own hair was Molesting me.
Mistake 2 I started to collect data and with such naivety in my soul I walked into the Dr offices one by one and the way I felt when I left was devastating. My friends and family were starting to worry , and on the last day of this episode the one and only I've had,,, I found myself going un announced to 2 Dr offices with small Tupperware of hair , and an 8x11 piece of paper with the little pieces were neatly attached. DUH I looked like a lunatic, but after 5 dr appts and they all are saying they don't see anything , I'm starting to lose it.
Next day my family arrived from 4,000 miles away and said "Why don't we take a trip to the ER, they will all the resources right there. So like that poor dog in the pound, thinking I'm going to finally get some relief , I put on my shoes and walked to the ER.
Mistake 3 Never leave the house after 3/4 days without sleep and wounds up and down your arm, and then say nooooo, I am not here for the wounds, I am here because these pieces of fiber keep coming out my arms.
6 days later , I was walking home.......
not once did anyone look at my arm.

I noticed you just posted and may be waiting for an answer. It is really a good thing your family came out and took you to the hospital. Your situation sounds very familiar. Someone very close to me has a condition called schizo-affective disorder with OCD Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I'm not sure what you ended up being diagnoised with, but I can tell you that when he is on his medication, he is much better.
There is another website you might find very helpful. http://www.nami.org.
There are people who are going through the same things there. They have discussion boards there as well for specific conditions.
The insomnia can contribute to this different perception that you are having right now. I hope your sleeping will get back to normal soon. I know it is not easy to go without proper sleep--I too struggle with that myself.
Anyway, don't worry. I'm pretty sure you don't have parasites. Your perception is just a little off right now--that's all. This is likely all that is causing you to see things like the fibers that other people cannot see. Nothing to worry about. Please trust your doctors and your family and get better soon!

You should check out the Morgellon's forum....everyone is so quick to deem you as crazy...but you may not be at all.
FIND YOURSELF A GOOD ALTERNATIVE DOCTOR IN YOUR AREA.
Go to ACAM.org and search for one. Call ahead of time to be sure they are familiar with Morgellon's. If not, find one who is.
Blessings..you will be ok! Just keep thinking that.

This is a reply to # 1,431,480Morgellons may be a real disease (which I don't know...) but in this case I have the impression that is not the case. Stress and lack of sleep can certainly make one see and believe strange things, it happened to me in my late 20s. First I began losing sleep and eventually unable to sleep at all, after one such night when the sun came up one morning my mind was not my own anymore and I had to be hospitalized and medicated. For a good while I was still convinced that what I'd "seen" was real, it was kind of like the Matrix, since it happened in my mind it was real to me but eventually I accepted that it was not.
The real interesting part is that I read about hypoglicemia's effect on the mind and moods and I went to an endocrinologist who ordered a glucose tolerance test which came back positive. I went on a low-sugar diet, made sure I exercised and took a stres management course and I never had any more of those episodes.
Please don't be scared of having to take meds for a time, you sound like a very sharp person and I'm sure you'll be back to normal in no time if you take good care of yourself.

This is a reply to # 1,436,298Why abuse? My reply was the compassionate one of someone who once "saw things" and recovered. I believe the rest of you would be doing this person a disfavor IF the story is true at all (please see below)... And perhaps you didn't read his/her post very well. He/she's admitting that besides already having insomnia he/she spent 3-4 nights without sleeping at all; if you knew anything about the human brain you'd know that sleep deprivation can make one psychotic.
I drew those conclusions also from what he/she said about 1) her hair moving on its own and "molesting" him/her (!). 2) He/she poked at her arms with tweezers for FOUR HOURS then took pics of the arms and showed them to others who were understandably alarmed. 3) Showing up unannounced at 2 Dr.'s offices (!). 4) 5 appointments and no one else saw the fibers he/she "put" in the tupperware or piece of paper. 5) Family travels 4,000 miles to take her to the ER... They left jobs and homes just to be mean or to help???
I just think that most responders DIDN'T pay attention to any of those details but in their desire to prove Morgellons is real (which it may be, I don't know or care) all you saw was the "fiber thing". I don't know if in the heat of defending this person (or rather your beliefs...) you may have noticed that he/she has not popped back here again, and if you bother to click on his/her profile you will see that was the only post, for all you know this was a TROLL that wanted to have some fun with the gullibility of others and is laughing his her a** right now at your expense.

Not for me either, and I know by personal experience, so I have to watch it, lol! But the really bad kind is when you don't get ANY sleep at all for 2 days or more, one day and you just feel very tired, irritable and forgetful, after that the stress hormones kick in so bad they affect you physically, and your mind begins to seriously fail.

Sorry bout that, I know we're suppose to be serious on here. But I think there's alot to be said about laughter being the best medicine. As a matter of fact, I'm trying for my Dr's Degree in Laughter 101 !!!
Unfortunately, they keep flunking me and holding me back year after year? Which is really sad considerin, it's a learn at home school?? Huh? Go figure? I'm gonna quit and go back to being a waitress, that way ya know you'll have an audience till they get done eating at least !!! :)ha

AAWWW !!! That there is the problem! To be kept sane, you must first have been sane!!! That my friend is not one of the many adjectives I have been called throughout my long life !(Assumin that it is an adjective? My learnin and "English" skills use to be lots better then they are now?) Well in plain "Hillbilly" "I'm crazy as squirrel who can't find it's nuts !" But that's ok, the voices keep me company when I'm all alone. As a matter of fact the one voice just got through tellin me, "YOUR NEVER ALONE!!!" then it gave this really scary soundin laugh. Shoot looky there even the danged voices in my head think they're funny. Well doggies, I'll be a monkey's uncle. That is if'in I was a man and if'in I was some kinda primate or something???

This is a reply to # 1,431,480I had a newspaper article a couple years ago about morgellons. I think it was either from sun-sentinel.com or miamiherald.com. I believe a women who had the problem was on the local news. Try wsvn.com and click10.com I can't remember the other stations, but you can google them. Try to contact the person who has the disease and find out her treatment. Honestly, I think some doctor's just don't want to deal with it. I don't think you were hallucinating about it, that can happen though If I were you, I would've found out as much as I could about it, print the info out, before going to the ER, I would not want to be sent to the psych ward, possibly put in a straight jacket, and then have the morgellons moving around, (torture) I remember the lady who had them said it was very frustrating to cope with.

This is a reply to # 1,431,480Take baths with huge amounts of salt. It causes electrical problems with these things, and they may all exit. I have heard this happening, and the person was cured.

This is a reply to # 1,431,480Sorry to tell you this but doctors are NOT going to help you. You need to figure this out on your own. Morgellons seems to be (imo) a sort of nano parasite. Have you tried the Hulda Clark Zapper? What about oxygen therapy? Colon hydrotherapy? Black-Walnut Hulls? Start some type of herbal therapy with the zapper or colon hydrotherapy. The thing about Doctors is that they do not understand or recognize Morgellons yet. Not until it becomes more common. So you will have to help yourself. Going back and forth to different Doctors will be a waste of time especially when they don't want to hear what you have to say.
