The natural items I am aware of which have had the best success with pancreatic cancer are:
Extra care should always be taken with the liver when fighting cancer because first of all, according to the great cancer pioneer Max Gerson cancer only occurs when the liver is impaired to begin with and a successful fight against cancer will release quite a bit of toxins which must be processed and eliminated through the liver. Since your friend's cancer has begun to spread to the liver that is all the more reason to take measures to cleanse and detox the liver, keep it cleansed and the bile ducts open and flowing, and also take measures to protect the liver and regenerate it.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most difficult and aggressive cancers. I strongly recommend that your friend adopt a comprehensive cancer fighting protocol that includes all of the above elements and more. I would never advise anyone to try to beat pancreatic cancer with a simple one or two item approach.
You can find out much more, including detailed instructions for the liver at:
http://www.tbyil.com/anticancer.htm
And I will note that the Yahoo "Oleandersoup" Group I host has members who are successfully fighting pancreatic cancer with oleander, black seed, and Budwig as well as other items you will find on the link above, including special attention to the liver.
Yes, I am aware of that article - I was in fact the first person to comment on it here at CZ and I sent it out to the members in my Yahoo group as a special notice. I am not saying that your approach could not be successful, just that I would never recommend a simple one or two item approach for such a difficult cancer as pancreatic cancer when the difference might be that between life and death.
I am extremely high on Nigella Sativa, as you know, and as I noted in my post it is one of the few natural things that has been demonstrated to be effective against pancreatic cancer. However, what the study quoted in the Natural News article actually demonstrated was that Nigella Sativa killed 80% of pancreatic cancer cells in vitro (in a petri dish), which is not at all the same as saying it would kill 80% of the cancer cells in vivo (in a living organism) and at any rate, 20% were not killed.
When it comes to proof, I would say that oleander offers some pretty compelling proof, first of all in the study I reported on here:
Oleander Found to Induce Autophagy in Pancreatic Cancer Cells
As well as the fact that the Salud Integral Clinic in Honduras has pancreatic cancer patients who are using oleander exclusively who are still alive years after being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer (and some had their cancers eliminated in only 6 months) AND the fact that my Yahoo group has members with pancreatic cancer who are using oleander and much of the rest of my protocol to successfully battle cancer.
There are any number of items out there which might work for cancer or which have worked for others with cancer - ranging from a simple one item approach such as Essiac, or water fasting, or stress relief or even prayer. For economic or whatever reasons, some may choose to employ a less comprehensive approach, but If I were to get cancer and my life were on the line, especially an aggressive and difficult cancer like pancreatic cancer, I would leave no stone unturned in fighting cancer regardless of what might work or what has worked for some others. That is what my suggested protocol is intended to do and why I developed it the way I did. In fact, in my way of thinking I would be remiss to recommend anything other than what I believe offers the maximum chances of success.

There is no debate about black seed from me - I am extremely high on it, wrote an article about it for Natural News and include it now in my suggested protocol. I would likely have not given my own opinion to begin with (and maybe not even noticed the original question), except it was cross posted into two cancer support forums. Generally speaking, when someone asks for help or advice about cancer I tell them what I think will work the very best for them based on the years and thousands of hours I have spent looking into natural help for cancer and helping others the best I can.
I am not aware of any nutrtional values for oleander. It is not consumed for nutrition and is quite toxic in raw form until it is properly boiled and strained according to directions. I have a partial list of the cancer fighting and immune boosting compounds in oleander if that would be helpful (oleandrin and other cardiac glycosides, beta sitosterol, quercitin, ursolic acid, long chain polysacharrides, etc). As you probably know from my past posts on oleander, it was found in European studies in 1986-87 to have six times the immune stimulating activity of the most powerful patented immune stimulators known to man, which is no doubt a large part of why it is so successful against cancer, HIV, hep-c, etc.
