"Bone pain" certainly sounds like a concern in one so young. At any rate, it and the headaches suggest an acidic condition.(inflammation) I think people can be reluctant to give you opinions given the stomach pain and vomiting. That's an unusual experience for (so early in) a water fast, (according to my research) although many things are possible. I did a 29 day fast this past summer and all was well, all the way through. **edit:i did a lot of reading beforehand, and had done a number of
Liver Flushes and some anti-
parasite herbs. Additionally, I have regular BMs, usually three a day.
My opinion is that with the headaches, there might well be some liver congestion... can only say *might* be. That could make you feel pretty crappy, when you suddenly take away food. personally, I try to stay away from doctors, which is what brought me finally to things like liver flushing, and the water fast.
If I were her I'd stop the smartwater--this is a *product* that is aimed at a body that's still eating and might be subject to some high and low swings. The body *left to a simple water fast* knows how to balance itself. The ingestion of these electrolytes (in the smartwater)are probably quite confusing to the system. I'd try the distilled - or spring- water for a day and see how that goes. (be aware that if you buy it it can sit on the shelf for a long time--try to get it form somewhere where it moves fast)
i went for most of the 29 days on spring water, because that's what I had. On the few days when i couldn't face it, I switched to distilled.
PS--how well she was eliminating before this fast would have some bearing on her experience. Sounds like there could be quite a lot of congestion--including in the liver.
