I have a sluggish bowel, 1 BM a day. If I skipped a meal, I'll have no BM. I'm afraid a liquid fast would only make matters worse. How do you guys keep your bowels going during fast?

I take a daily cleansing enema otherwise I don't have a bowel movement.

For the first 2 or 3 days my bowel movement have solids in them after that it is mainly butt pee. My longest fast has been 7 days.
For detoxing my 5 day fast works fine for me. I take enemas in rhe morning and again in the evening. I also drink my PB&C shake through out the fast.

I know that you take 1Tbsp of olive oil every night before going to bed. You didn't mention taking any oil during your 5-day fast? Is that a conscious decision?

P.S. I still take coconut oil and olive oil during my mini-fast 2.5 days. It helps to curtail my apetite.

Hi Tierra,
Yes, I do take a tsp of olive oil during my fast. Just an oversight on my part. It not only help curtail one's appetite but also lubricated the digestive track.

This is a reply to # 1,355,799The day after a fast I took 2500mg of buffered C and 5 caps of PB 8 and after 3 glasses of water, I have a normal bm. Flax seeds and hemp are also good sources of fiber, but lots of water is key.- Re: Tips for Bowel Management during... tierra

You did a one-day fast. On the first day, normal bm (dumping food consumed the nite before). On 2nd day, back to normal meal and take all the aforementioned stuff and bm few hours later? Third day, back to normal, 2-3 bms day.
Is that right?
