I don't ever time anything. I take
Epsom Salt before and after the flush to lubricate my intestines so that the stones come out more easily. I have chronic constipation, and if I don't do this, the stones get stuck in my bowels. Dr. Clark reccomends a total of four doses of epsom salt. This would create an even greater laxitive effect. If you find this neccessary then go ahead, otherwise, I think one or two doses are fine.
I also drink a lot of water with the epsom salt. Many of the
Liver Flush protocols reccomend taking the
Epsom Salt with only a small amount of water, but this isn't necessary. The
Epsom Salt functions by osmotically drawing water into the bowel from the bloodstream. I don't think this is probably very healthy, so I drink lots of water with it instead. Instead of drawing water into the bowel, the epsom salt will instead prevent the water you drink from being absorbed (osmosis causes water to flow from unsalty fluids into salty fluids depending on the level of saltiness, until the two are in balance.) So by drinking enough water to dilute the salt to the point of having the same level of saltiness as the blood, the water and salt will not be absorbed. In fact any kind of salt will work, magnesium, potassium, and even
table salt !)
I usually don't have much of an appetite after doing the flush, and I've only tried eating one time after the flush and I felt nauseaus. However, I usually feel nauseus anyway so I don't know if it was due to the food. I usually wait to eat until the next day.
