Many musicians are Narcissists. I'm a musician (classical) and psychologist; however, I refuse to diagnose myself. I'm afraid of the reality of knowing that I'm a Malignant Narcissist or Sociopath or anything.
Anyway, my SO is a metal guitarist. He's the biggest Narcissist I've ever met in my life.
It's tough to handle, but once you've got a hold on it, everything can be okay. It's not really the type of love most people would want though. There are several of members here with horror stories of their lives being taken over by Narcissistic partners, but if you know what you're dealing with, and you are strong minded enough (at the time) to surpass the struggles and deal with their neurosis, then you can have a success story. I have a few horror stories of my own from the past of the relationship I'm in now, but I think I made a few of the right moves, and we're doing great.
You might think you discovered a weakness in him, and it might be a weakness, but that doesn't mean he lets it get played on. People can be very aware and defensive of their own weaknesses. They can be very hard headed and deliberately do opposite of what you want them to...just because.
Find another guy, and I'll be he comes around lol.
