Thank you Chris for that info!! That is great news. My sciatica can be dibilitaing (sp?) - just horrible. I did notice a great improvement the last 3 or so days, so I was curious. I do plan to stop the fast for two days so that I can enjoy my weekend away from my two year old. Plan to go out to eat tonight and stay in a hotel. I feel very guilty for stopping now, but it is so rare to get away from the little monster, so I want to enjoy it as much as possible. On Sunday, I will start again and my goal is 10 more days. Very pleased with the weightloss, I am now 107, but carrying a little belly pooch (why can't I have some extra fat in my boobs or butt?!!) and would like to be in the 95-100 range. Fonty - you fast a few days a week? How long have you done that? What are the positive effects of doing that? Thanks. Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays motivated to reach their goals!! :)

That is what i thought. You can't just go from a fast to eating loads.
On this point. I'm still confused on the perfect way to break fast. I keep reading conflicting advice.
On a ten day fast, i believe it is okay to eat solid fruit straight away, but keep it to same fruit on the first day. I'm allergic to tomatoes, and i'm not that keen on oranges. I've been reading my Shelton book today, and these fruits were suggested.
I prefer fruit like pear, melon, red grapes, mangoes, peaches, strawberries, papaya. I'm also sensitive to pineapple. Now it is the next day four days i'm a bit confused about. I don't want to live on fruit and vegetables, and want to get back on some sort of grain and protein fairly rapidly. I found his book a little unclear. The writing is so small as well, lol, and i need reading glasses.
Could anyone, tell me exactly how they came off a fast 14 days or under.

I ended all my fasts with fresh diluted juices - originally beet with carrot, the last fast I switched to apple juice. That was day one. Day two I took pure fresh juice (not diluted) and day three I started eating - salads and stuff, small amounts, lots of chewing (I also chewed on the juice, it took me almost an hour to consume one glas of juice, I was being extra careful). Next time I want to try solid food right away, I am thinking of a lightly steamed peeled tomatoe and green pepper, I haven't decided yet, though. With the juices it took me too long to gain energy. My longest fast thus far was 21 days.

This is a reply to # 1,112,651It really doesn't matter what fruit you eat first. So long as the food is raw and high water content it will be fine to break your fast with. Follow your naturally cravings at the end of your fast for whatever natural foods attract you the most. You can add other raw stuff as your digestion system starts working regularly again, such as raw nuts and then salads. If you want to add processed foods (grains) in earlier then add them in small amounts at first to your salads. This goes for anything else you wish to add to your diet in refeeding later, always eat it with a salad, the raw foods aid the digestion incredibly. Ideally this way of eating, food combining, should be continued after the refeeding period as well, no matter diet you plan to live on.
The important thing during refeeding is to eat as much raw as you can and not too much in quantity, especially when first breaking the fast.

Thanks, i usually do eat grains with a salad, i like brown basmanti rice or quinoa.
I actually found some sprouted bread in health food store. So am going on to that. I used to make my own bread, but haven't for awhile now.
Do you ever have sprouts? They are highly nutritious and cheap. I'm thinking of growing some to have in my salads.- Re: Day 11 - Fonty

This is a reply to # 1,113,046Yeah I used to grow heaps of sprouts but got lazy, I still have sprouts in every salad though, lots of different sorts. And sprout bread is yummy! Put avocado or banana on it, it's to die for! ;)

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS day 11!! :)) I am sure it was great journey for you and u are very proud of urself!
Lilllyntally, are you serious about eating for just ONE day?? Do u really think it worth to break ur fast just for one day and then start all over? What are u planning to eat, by the way? It didnt sound like you are going to consume diluted fresh juice throughout a day... It sounded like u were about to enjoy that day to the full by eating more heavy food.. U will be sick and give the greatest shock to you body. It WILL double u over! U body was resting for more than 10 days and now u are about to give it a 'pleasant' surprise'... PLEASE PLEASE think twice before doing something crazy like that!.. :)
