As seen in this cattle liver section from an article I borrowed off-line, the two parasites are comfortably nestled in the tissue. The flukes can easily handle the ezymatically active area of the bile ducts, and likely cause disruptions there, by the activities of mucosal immune-functions from agitated tissue.
Plus, the flukes will secrete numerous biologically active molecules which no doubt have significant physiological consequences. They also produce waste products including ammonia, which I have detected in my own mucus portion of saliva.

I am now taking "artemisinin" in quantities well beyond recommended doses, to see if I can move these things.

I do not believe one can easily detect these flukes in stool exams without proper technique. They would 'blend' in with the rest of the poo.
I will however, be on the lookout for evidence of explulsion, and will keep you all posted.
If I am lucky enough to find one of these extrodinary specimens, I will post up pictures. If I get one alive I will celebrate, because the research value of that would be priceless. Shroom
