All of us inhale candida the moment we take our
first breath outside our mother's body. Human's
share the planet with fungus which is the most
prevalent lifeform on the planet last time I
checked...
Yeast/fungus/candida does not present a problem
until there is an overgrowth. It takes time to
find balance. Like anything else, if you fall out
of balance you will have a relapse. There are no
grand arrivals though and so through diet and
cleansing and keeping things like
parasites down,
you can regain your balance.
It took me three years the first time to bring
my candida back into balance. About twice that
long to fall out again and less time the next time
to regain it. Of course, this was also after a
lifetime of choices which encouraged the overgrowth
of candida. I still cling to habits like drinking
beer which is more akin to fertilizer for yeast.
I am not stressed by this but am also careful with
my other dietary choices and do a candida cleanse
at least once a year. Just about now is a good
time for me, after the holiday feasting and libating.
Once you fit it into your mind and understand
the role yeast plays in your body's chemistry,
than almost like a gardener, you will layer food,
and water into your system like a composting heap
almost. You will grow and tend your yeast by giving
it nutrients to grow or herbs which dampen down its
growth.
The yeast and bacteria are important to digestion
so it is not our intention to wipe everything out but
to realize that like a lawn with weeds, you want to
grow the good bacteria strains and weed out the fast
growing more overbearing types. We use yogurt and kefir
or probiotics and acidophilous to replenish and feed
our good gut flora.
Once you become comfortable with this, you will see
that even raising your awareness represents major
progress.
Progress or decay...thats the name of the game with
candida. Hang in there...you are ahead in the game
having come this far. Do not give up when one day
you will wake up and just know, you have found the
wellness you are seeking.
best wishes,
Zoe
