This will be only the 2nd time I've tried the Salt Loading protocol in response to the Iodine Supp I've been doing. I didn't take any Iodine today, and I'm about ready to do the salt loading protocol for this evening. I'm going to do the 1/2 teaspoon of celtic Sea Salt and then drink a lot of water, and just follow the protocol the rest of the way as it states. I'll have to look up the details again before I begin.
I feel I need to do some release of toxins that aren't going on their own. My liver especially feels swollen and burdened the last couple days. My urine output was small last evening too, even with drinking more than usual water in the evening.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

This is a reply to # 1,019,767Ok, I did the first salt push and I'm just about to drink the 2nd one 1/2 hour later. Today, I was stopped up in my sinuses and sneezing..feeling like it was on oncoming cold with scratchy throat or an allergy..but right after the 1st salt load I sneezed a few times, blew my nose a few times..and it's very clear now! I'm not sneezing, or feeling the scratch throat! If find this kind of stuff so dang interesting!!
I'm not peeing much yet..so on to my second warm glass of saltwater! How many times is avgerage do you think? 2-3, what if you do more than 3? Like 4-5? I'm taking 1/2 teaspoon of salt in very warm water, with 12 oz. of pure water right after.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,019,805I've taken it 3 to 4 times a day for quite a while. Now it's about 2 times a day with the 1/2 tspn Himalayan salt. I feel better taking that, than the celtic. But I have a hard time following it with that much water. I follow it with 1 cup at the most. That works best for me. I've read if you drink too much water you lose the osmotic pressure, I think that's the energy in the cell. Don't quote me. You may feel like drinking more water that 1 cup, but my body says yuk to any more. That's my opinion.

This is a reply to # 1,019,815Oh..that's good info to know. I'm relieved actually, since I've not done this before..just the one salt push once. I did the second salt drink and I'm starting to feel like I have more urine, but still I know that I will do at least one more time if not a total of 4.
My scratchy throat is gone, my nose is just a bit stuffy again, and I'm going to go pee now..then do another salt push.
How often does one want to urinate after the successive salt pushes? Every 20 minutes or less often? I'm wondering how does one feel after or how does one want to feel afterwards:) I'd like to feel relieved and less swollen in the mid-section, and less heavy feeling in the tips of some of my toes and my right hand sometimes gets that asleep feeling. Any antidotal experiences would be helpful.

This is a reply to # 1,019,822We all can have different symptoms at different times. The salt push seems to take a load off. Sometimes it doesn't take it all the way off. I believe the companion nutrients are supposed to help with the symptoms alleviation also. I found this on the new addition of B2 to our Iodine protocol, and this on the niacin which talks about some of the symptoms you are having. Niacin is also one of the companion nutrients we are advised to take when supplementing iodine.

This is a reply to # 1,019,835I've been taking a Super B-50 for a long while now which contains 50 mgs. of niacin. I take one tablet a day, along with at least 500 mgs. of magnesium, and a multi mineral tablet and I have V-C chewables that have 500 mgs. but I like the VC crystals better as you can add that to juice to get larger doses as in several grams very quickly.
I'm doing my 3rd salt load now, and I'm feeling some relief with a good urine output..at least intuitivly it feels like it's a good output.
I wouldn't call it a copious amount though..not yet anyway.
I am not going to eat anything tonight since I ate earlier, and feel so full from the drinks!
I'll be around for another 1/2 hour or so..and I'll post my last thoughts/results from this salt push. Gosh..my sinuses sure feel good!

This is a reply to # 1,019,847I'm wondering if I would want to take another day off from Iodine tomorrow and do the salt loading again tomorrow evening? What would be a good diet for tomorrow then? I'm thinking mostly fruits, fruit smoothie and a green juice? Nothing too heavy, or taxing. After all that salt I do feel like I'll want some refreshing fruits!
My neighbor gave me the yummiest concord grapes from her vine the other day..you eat one, you eat them all! They were young, and very very sweet! I am going to look into planting a vine myself. I'm used to eating those off a much older vine, with the grapes much larger and the seeds so tough you gotta spit them out!

This is a reply to # 1,019,915Yes, I agree to needing the couple days off from taking the Iodine. I'm not going to do it today either. I'm going to do the salt loading again this evening..it has helped me tremendously that I wonder why I didn't do it before this?!
Even though I got myself (the help came from this forum)off the thyroid meds after 31 years in pretty short order..only a couple months of starting Iodine, I'm still cautious I guess. I'm not afraid to go off the Iodine for a few days now though..was a little worried before last night.
I don't know how long a body retains any of the iodine, but I know for thyroid meds, they stay in your system for 3-4 weeks..and probably have some residue much longer..I'm not sure though.
If anyone can answer how long Iodine stays in your blood stream before it shows you are not taking any..let me know..otherwise I'll be doing some research and reading about that. I'm curious and probably should know this.
I love touching my neck now..it's very smooth and the swelling of the goiter is so down, it feels like it's not there. You can't imagine how this feels to me! It really is Awesome! When my hair grows a bit longer I'll do some before and after pics for you all. It's just so short right now!
