Day 3
Rough day but overcome a difficult enema experience and my sinuses improved.

I woke up in the morning, drove my friend to the airport, and then fought traffic for an hour and a half to get back home. Not a great way to start another fasting day but it is what is. When I got home I decided to do an enema before juicing to empty my intestines further. Well, after about twenty minutes, I got very dizzy and flushed in the face, went into the bathroom to do my business, and almost passed out. I was sweating profusely and felt very clammy for about ten minutes, but it finally subsided. It DID scare me a bit and made me think this fasting idea was not a good one. Apparently, I cleared some toxic stuff.
This little bout kept me from juicing until the afternoon, since I needed to let my stomach settle down again. I was also very tired and napped for awhile. The rest of the day was difficult as doubt after doubt came to mind about what I was doing, how ridiculous it was of me to think I could do a juice fast on my own, how I could be endangering my health, that there was not going to be any improvement in my CFS symptoms, not matter how long I fasted, etc. This went on for hours and I almost gave into these thoughts and gave up the fast. Thank God I didn't. I listened to some relaxing music and nature sounds in the evening, took a hot bath, and did what I could to convince myself to keep going, and not give in to doubts and worries. The mind almost won this war.
I had the sinus headache and mucus discharge unti late afternoon, and after using steam and my neti pot, the situation improved finally. My back still hurts like hell often, but I know these symptoms will improve if I just hang in there a few more days to get to the other side of this. I remember last time that days 3 and 4 were the toughest to endure (weakness, sinus headache, etc.) so I just have to tough it out. I know it will all be worth it if I just hang in there. My only little "cheat" tonight was getting an all-fruit drink at Jamba Juice. It was apple-strawberry juice with some pureed peaches and other fruit. I could only drink 8 ounces of the 16. Too sweet for me. I have to persevere and not do any other "cheating."
