Days 6 and 7
Resisting temptations
Date: 7/16/2007 9:10:31 AM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 2105 times I couldn't post over the weekend because I couldn't remember my log in information for the site (my computer at work "remembers" it, but home computer does not), so I'm doing a summary post on Monday.
Saturday weight - 126.0
Going in to the weekend, I knew the two days were going to be my biggest challenge. For starters, there's just more food around on the weekends, particularly being at home around the cupboards and with opportunities for going out. Second, I'd be in social situations, and I was a little worried that it'd be tough to keep drinking the lemonade without looking odd. And finally, on Sunday, we had plans to attend brunch at a friend's place.
So Saturday wasn't too big of a deal. We went river tubing with friends, and because of the long drive that I needed to start early, I skipped the salt water flush. I drank a glass or two before we left, then brought a couple servings with me in a nalgene bottle and sipped on that throughout the trip. When someone asked what it was, I just said it was lemonade. Everyone had beer and had brought there own water, and since I don't like beer anyway, it was no big deal.
Sunday weight - 145.0
Sunday was the tougher day. Again, I skipped the salt water because I needed to leave the house early and the drive would take about an hour. Drank some lemonade before and brought more with me in the nalgene bottle. When I arrived, I just said I wasn't feeling well and that I'd brought a little oj to drink. No one seemed to mind, and since it was a pretty casual buffet style meal, it wasn't really that noticeable that I wasn't eating. However, the food was pretty tempting! There was fried chicked, sliced roasted ham, marinated shrimp, biscuits, etc. But I made it!
In the evening, the boyfriend and I decided to see a movie. I knew the boyfriend would want to eat something at the theater, so I brought some lemonade. The boyfriend came back from the concessions with a huge tray of nachos and a huge bag of popcorn. The nachos smelled SO good. But once again, I resisted. It was not easy. Sigh.
After two days of not doing the salt water flush, I think I'm going to discontinue it. I know it's supposed to help cleanse my system, but honestly, it's just so difficult to do, and since I'm doing this mainly for weight loss, it just doesn't seem necessary, as it doesn't seem to get out much more than I'm putting in, plus I'm already doing the laxative tea. I don't want to add another cup of tea because, although I like the tea, it's too difficult to deal with at work (since it takes longer to get through your system than the salt water). I only lost a 1/2 pound yesterday, although that was on the heels of a 1.5 pound loss the day before, so it's still within normal range. If I'm only down 1/2 pound tomorrow, I may start it back up again.
Overall, I feel pretty good. If it's been a while without a lemonade I get pretty hungry quickly, but I can take care of the hunger fast as soon as I drink a lemonade. No headaches or other aches and pains, and energy is in good shape. Sleeping well also.
