Day 5 Afternoon

Sometimes life isn't fair

The afternoon has rolled around and, per usual, I'm feeling a lot better.

Last night my boyfriend made tortellini for dinner and, while I was out of the apartment will he was eating, I cleaned up the leftovers when I got home. It was pretty tough to hold back from popping one in my mouth ... but I did it. Let's hope that will power lasts through this weekend. I know if I can get through the weekend I can make it the full 10 days.

Lest anyone think my boyfriend is rude or unsupportive, that's not the case at all. I know a lot of couples do the cleanse together, but that's simply not an option for us, since my boyfriend is extremely thin and cannot afford to lose any weight. While I know this isn't a weight loss program, the fact of the matter is that it'd be impossible for him not to lose weight on -- he's 6'4" and requires too many calories than can be consumed from lemonade alone.

That being said, it would be nice if his eating habits improved. Mostly, he eats pretty badly. He does ok with meals (although breakfast is usually either Pop Tarts or a bacon/egg/cheese sandwich), but snacks constantly and on junk food. Problem is that he's so thin and is such a light eater (while he snacks a lot, he tends not to eat much in one sitting, even if he's starving and hasn't eaten in a while) that I don't want to discourage the eating. Plus, he needs the calories. Further, I think that while his habits aren't great, it's not as though he's got blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, or other issues generally associated with poor eating habits. So generally my approach is to try and get him to eat square meals, and not worry about the snacking.

Anyway, I realize it's off topic, but being on this cleanse makes me thing about eating habits more. Also, as I look at him eating his pasta and ice cream and being so thin, I can't help but feel that life's just not fair ....
