A New Day

Welcome! Tea, coffee? perhaps a Coke? didn't think so...

Following a weekend of happily scoffing my last remnants of junk food, I feel free. Free to wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start -- A clean break! I'm *eXcited*.

Just yesterday, I was reading up on diets according to body types (pitta, kapha..) and was amazed at how my current diet and symptoms matched up with the Kapha-water type. I couldn't relate to that body type stuff in the past. I didn't feel it applied to me... not 'til last night. So I'll be incorporating that into my regime. 

Oil-swishing is something new I learnt about last week. Sceptical at first but seeing as it's inexpensive, I thought I'd give it a go and bought Unrefined Organic Sunflower Oil. Only £2! Swished and squished daily for the last 3 days. Surprisingly, I've really taken to it and find it very manangeable first thing in the morning.

Day One

6am - Woke up after 6 hours feeling better than my usual dreary self ( I suspect oil swishing is having an effect)

Oil swished for 20 mins

9:30am - a cup of warm mineral water with 1tsp of apple cider vinger (ACV).

10mins later - 1 opened capsule of burdock and the same with echinacea, touch of organic cayenne pepper, dash of ground ginger in a cup. Hot water poured into cup and cooled with mineral water. Add 1tsp of freshly squeezed lemon.

20mins later -  half of a sweet, non tangy pineapple... *tastes divine*

30mins later - ate the other half ! Just too good to resist.

Midday - 5 or 6 dried apricots and 2 figs.

1-2pm - Felt a little energy-depleted. Made a cup of my potent loose herb tea - echinacea, burdock, gingko leaf tab, marigold, horsetail, nettle, bearberry/uva ursi, parsley piert and pellitory of the wall with a dash of cayenne and ginger. Brew for 20-30 minutes. Finish with a tsp of lemon. Absolutely ghastly! but bearable. I just think of it as 'medicinal' and then it's not so bad!

3pm - Hunger strikes! Two rice cakes, 1 multi-grain ryvita and 1 oat cake with almond, cashew and pumpkin seed butters. Trying to get rid of the oat cakes, ryvita, cashew and pumpkin seed as I don't enjoy them very much. Took 5 chlorella tabs with a little water during meal.
