If you insist to give your baby and husband milk of any kind,
then I (who am totally against milk drinking)
Would say then at the very least ,
drink raw organic free roam grass fed goats milk fresh.
Actually I am saying this *tongue in cheek *
I am NOT endorsing this.. read below,
since this so called *safe alternative*
that others claim is ok ,
is actually even worse than pasturized...
which is a horror story of its own.
You can do this kinda research yourself quite easily,
esp if you get answers you don't like.
The way I see it, you were given very appropriate answers,
from a website that is geared to give Health advice,
Not advice to suit your need to drink
what we see as a known toxic product.
I do not mean to offend you with that statement,
but , honestly if you want someone to justify milk drinking,
and giving it to an infant to top it off,
you will not find that kind of support here.
excepts you might like to read :
A team of European scientists led by Dr. Luisa Businco in
Rome concluded that goat's milk is unsafe for infants with
cow's milk allergy. Their study was published in the Journal
of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, June 1999; 103:1191-
1194.
During oral tests in which children swallowed small amounts
of goat's milk, 92% of the children experienced allergic
reactions.
No cow's milk for me. No pig's milk yogurt, nor horse milk
ice cream. No dog cream cheese, and certainly no skunk sour
cream.
I think that nursing your child would be far better, if an infant,
and then after weaning, NO milk is needed period.
ps..Soy is as dangerous if not more so as an alternative.
Why humans want to continue to drink another species milk to start with
is beyond me, and esp even of our own selves...
do you ever see ANY mammal continue into adulthood drinking mothers milk ?
NO.
If your child is an infant you can still breastfeed btw.
just start nursing regularly and in about 7-10 days
you will start making milk.
(do some research about this at laleche league websites)
http://www.lalecheleague.org/
even if you get to 60 years old, you can still produce milk
within a week of breastfeeding stimulation by a baby.
many cultures that are in poverty states, do this in fact,
quite common for a mother of a baby and the babies grandmother
to both nurse the baby , to ensure the baby gets enough nourishment.
What do you think nannies were? breastmaids, nursemaids,
older women who had kept their milk going,
and stayed employed til an infant was weaned, then found employ
with another family in need of her services.
It was a very reputable job and very well paid)

Oh yes...organic milk. The healthiest milk from the healthiest cow is naturally loaded with lactoferrins, immunoglobulins, and growth hormones. Horizon's organic milk contains animal fat and cholesterol, dioxins, and bacteria. The amount of somatic cells (pus) in organic milk is lower than milk from non-organic cows, but it's still dead white blood cells and dead bacteria. Ask yourself this question. Does organic human breast milk sound like a delicious drink for an adult human? Instinctively, most people know that there are substances in breast milk that are not intended for their adult bodies. Same goes for pig's milk and dog's milk. Same for cow's milk.
Some people may not be able to tolerate lactose, a milk sugar. One hundred percent of humans are allergic to casein, a milk protein. Eighty percent of the protein in Horizon's organic dairy products is casein, the same glue used to adhere a label to a bottle of beer. Eat casein and your body produces histamines, then mucous. This sludge congests your organs. Give up all milk and dairy products for just one week and an internal "fog" will lift from your body.
Is genetically engineered milk dangerous? You bet! Organic milk contains just a little bit less of the same hormones. I find very little difference between the two.

"Diseases which may be transmitted by micro-organisms
in raw milk or raw milk products include salmonellosis,
campylobacteriosis, brucellosis, yersiniosis, listeriosis,
staphylococcal enterotoxin poisoning, streptococcal
infections, tuberculosis and E. Coli 0157:H7 infection."
Although the initial impact of the disease is on the
individual
consumer, many pathogens may be transmitted from person
to person, including to family members, and patrons of
restaurants if the individual is a food handler. The fetus
of a pregnant woman may be at risk. Some of the diseases
associated with the pathogens can lead to death,
particularly
among vulnerable persons."
Rabies is a viral zoonosis that is usually transmitted by
the bite of an infected mammal. However, in Massachusetts,
two incidents have been reported since 1996 of potential
mass exposures to rabies through drinking unpasteurized
milk. This report presents the investigations of these two
incidents.
Pasteurization destroys rabies. Does raw milk sound
even less delicious than before?
"Raw material from animals which are inadvertantly
contaminated with fecal matters during production will
carry antibiotic resistant lactic acid bacteria into the
final
fermented products such as raw milk cheeses..."

Hope this meets your question.
You alone will make your own decision.
Your husband and child rely on you to give them
healthy food.
The choice is yours,..
unfortuneatly if he wants to continue to live toxically ,
and to condone it for your child as well..
then, you might get some good insurance to cover
future problems as well as current potential risks
unless you are independently wealthy and can cover
health care cosrs yourself.
(I do NOT mean that sarcastically , I am DEAD serious)
Why anyone, who admits to not drinking milk herself,
would seek answers to justify giving it to a child,
to me makes NO sense...
if your kid wanted to eat chemical garden fertilizer,
would you let it?
You have knowledge, your child does not.
You are responsible for what you allow you child to ingest.
Your husband, being adult, is responsible for his own body.
If he is so insistant on eating/drinking a toxic product,
he is subconsciously sendiing your child the message that
it too wants mik.
This will go with the child into adulthood.
It is a programed social belief system not of a good health format.
Please weigh my words, and the impact pursuing this
will have on everyone in your family .
Please make good choices for them , MOM
To be fair, here is a site that is pro goats milk
over cows milk :
http://www.gardenharvest.org/milkbenefits.htm
But the bottom line is that all milk
is just plain Toxic no matter how you slice it.
Comparing which is better
is like comparing different poisons,
which one is worse?
With true respect,
Love,
Ami Joi Benton
