day....um... I'm not sure
I SLOWLY start to break my 40 day juice fast. Careful how you break them...
Date: 4/13/2006 7:46:37 AM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 3242 times I still consider what I'm doing fasting.
It's not juice fasting, its not water fasting, but it's still abstanance from my "normal" diet.
Monday I ate 2 and a half pineapples. Bad idea. I LOVE pineapple and I know it'll never hurt me, but by the middle of the third pineapple my mouth started bleeding. It's because of the enzymes in pineapple, notably, bromalin, which actually digest my tongue and gums. Luckly it goes away quick, but my mouth was pretty sore for a few hours.
Tuesday, I was busy all day, so I couldn't take fresh fruit with me. So I bought a pound of dates and munched on them all day. mmmmmm i love fresh dates! Also, in the evening, after allowing all the dates to digest, I had a jar of raw sauerkraut. Also yummy!
Wednesday, I had some problems. I started out with mangoes, and had 3 between 7am and 10am. No problem there. Then at 1:00pm I decided that I REALLY wanted some peanut butter. I figured organic, hydrogenated oil-free stuff was ok. I had maybe 5 spoonfulls. For a while, it was ok. Then I started getting cramps. BAD!
My guts felt like they were being rinsed out with pool acid. I had another mango at 4:00, thinking that the peanut butter had left my stomach by then. WRONG!
The peanut butter and mango started rotting in my stomach and I was terribly sick feeling until around midnight. I had chills, and I was severly dehydrated due to violent diahreaa (gross).
I started feeling better around 3:00am or so, and I STILL can't sleep, due to how crappy my body feels.
I guess the moral of the story is, BE CAREFUL while breaking your fast. Your body will violently expell any toxins in the food you eat after fasting. No more building up and tolerating that crap. It comes out NOW! and it hurts coming out sometimes. Such is the burden of extremely good health.
More to come as I venture back to the world of eating...
