Slow but Steady Progress
Days 4 & 5
Date: 3/27/2006 10:57:54 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1493 times I survived Day 4 without any problems. Woke up early with lots of energy. We went to a one day religious assembly, and it was a little over 90 minutes away. I waited until we were almost there to start my lemonade, and made it through about 4 throughout the day. We stopped for dinner at a restaurant about 6pm, and I asked for a nice glass and brought in a 20 oz bottle of lemonade. I sipped it and ice water while the family ate steak and shrimp. My daughter had the "kid's salad bar", but mostly wanted the ice cream. Then we drove home and I went to bed after drinking my tea.
This morning I had 4 glasses of lemonade ready, so I put them into bottles and left without making fresh juice. It was a long day of doctor/dentist appointments out of town, and I went shopping with the kids afterwards. We packed lunches, so we didn't have to eat out. An exhausting two days, especially as sitting makes my back hurt even more than usual; but well worth the extra pain. Usually I'd take Vicodin and Aleve (minimum) to make it through the day. I am very sore tonight, and was having some strong muscle spasms all afternoon (kept thinking my daughter was kicking the back of my seat over and over...), but I'm doing better now. I grilled chicken and made a big salad to go with it; then let the family help themselves while I made my tea. It's ready now, and I'm going to drink it and go to bed early (it's about 8:30 here).
The scale was friendly this morning. It showed me at 229 (only about 37 pounds to go before I can CHEW again!) I will push myself to drink a minimum of 6 lemonades per day for the rest of the week. I will also be starting slowly on the treadmill again tomorrow. The not eating part is getting easier, and I am grateful for that. I know more cleansing crisis will be coming, and I'm trying to be mentally ready for the first major one. So far, just aches, pains, and a new batch of acne.
I'll check in soon...
