This holiday weekend, it's really nice to be home. We just moved from NYC to Vermont, and vacation in VT is so much better than vacation in NYC. In NYC, you end up spending money like there's no tomorrow. Not just on vacation, but all the time.
In VT, it's lovely, there's snow and sunshine, a big (well not that big) house to move around in, drapes to put up, drains to drano, a lovely cat to pet, and general niceness. Last night was a sad one, around here, as we realized the cat is not sick, she's just slowing down drastically. She's nibbling at stuff, and sipping water, and purring.
We're giving her lots of love.
I dedicate this fast to her, my little Ginger.
Last night I had veggie juice at 2 PM (good one - cabbage, dill, carrots, a tomato, and some other greens...)
At 4, I had the rest of that veggie juice.
At 6 I had a pint of veggie broth (the powder I found at the coop is good, I just have to make sure I don't put that much in. I don't want to have any bits floating around that would awaken hunger).
At 8, I had some ginger and grape juice. This was really awesome - 75 organic seeded red grapes, a big hunk of ginger, and a lemon. I diluted the crap out of it. It was REALLY strong. it made two pints, drank one at 8, one at 9, then had some tea.
This morning I slept in and woke up around 9 - it was a good sleep. Had some water with lemon juice in it to alkalize the system. I think I'll start with carrot ginger juice this morning. That was the first juice I ever tried, many years ago at Berkeley. My friend had a huge glass of it and asked me to try it. I don't really like carrots but I LOVE ginger, and it was so yummy that I was hooked.
The fiance was very sad to cook for one last night. He's an amazing cook. No matter how many weeks ago I started to try to prepare him for what was going to happen, he didn't get it till last night. I can't be around him while he eats for a while. He can't get me to have "just a little solid food." I'm like, that's kind of NOT a fast!
All is well. I may write later... I think I'm going to get hunger feelings in the belly today... But in general, the emptying feeling so far just feels good. I have made the transition slowly, which has worked nicely. Before this, I was really packing it in - the holidays, we just moved, fiance unemployed for a while... So stress comes and I eat.
I'm looking forward to the re-boot that's coming. And no, I haven't done any enemas yet. I'm really looking forward to that (not really...)
