MidEast clash - never tried love!!
Love is all they need, but it has never been tried.
Date: 7/30/2006 11:33:20 AM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 1837 times This is way too simple, but I have to point out that that I see revenge, I see growing hatreds, I see nothing but bluntheaded violence being used to try and solve the conflicts there in the mideast conflict. No love in sight.
Israel and Lebanon are creating many more individuals with "nothing left to lose", and so utterly devastated that they are consumed with hate. Israel is creating more of those in Lebanese civilians right now, but Hezbolla is also creating many Jewish who will be consumed by hate for years to come too.
The childish positions of "you shot first - no you did", or "you kidnapped OUR soliders - ya but YOU kidnapped many more of our citizens", and "we have a right to defend ourselves by attacking beyond our borders - no you don't, so we will attack your nation too". and so on. It could not get more infantile.
Leaders are saying "Destroy Hezbolla, Destroy Israel - this is the only answer", but they are ignoring the other option of LOVE. Its so stupid to pursue a policy of "they must be wiped out", when "they" will never be actually wiped out. All that does is gaurantee the continuation of the war, something conspiracy people say is the whole point - warmoingers WANT this to continue, and how else can it all be explained? [its so stupid, there cannot be any other reason].
Love, however, would allow revenge to die out, it would create possibilities for understanding, there would be inward-looking reaction instead of blaming others. LOVE, if employed by Israel and Arabs right now, would mean an immdediate ceasefire on both sides.
Love isn't used because the leaders on both sides, on all the various worldwide sides, because our leaders all have "too much to lose" to let it be subjected to the uncertainties of love. They would lose their position of military or violence powers, which is the first step for any nation in claiming political power in any nation. They would lose their sources of wealth, especially in the Israeli-American military sales. They would lose their hatred, which is one of the essential elements of all wars.
Too simple to work, but too real to be ignored, LOVE is all they need to bring peace to Israeli and Arab nations living side by side. The place where love is most real, where it lives, is in the family and friends in the civilian populations on both sides who are being bombed right now, those people would choose love over death. Those 'loving civilians' represent the majority, and democratic principles say that the majority position must be the deciding factor, but that is being totally ignored, even by the major champions of democracy, America.
HEY leaders - the people you are going to war for don't want war.
