Quickie
The coalescence of forces and projects for the next board meeting
Date: 8/10/2005 8:59:32 AM ( 19 y ) ... viewed 1528 times This will be a quickie since I am gainfully employed now....Gainfully, may be stretching slightly!
The one thing that is coherent is the mission that is part and parcel of the "job", the mission is congruent with the Path..or existence of Now in Me...This is near a first...
Mostly I planned other's financial futures better than my own (cobbler and shoes?)and did my heart's desires for free outside of working hours..in other words, I volunteered...I have volunteered as a Board Trainer (fiduciary responsibility) with United Way, a docent with Mary Birch Aquarium (SIO), Fundraiser and grant writer For Clair Burgener Academy (Thank you Sol Price! and Audrey Gisel), docent at MOPA, Museum of Photographic Art, Band Of 100 for restoration of the Balboa Park, Cuddler's program at Balboa Naval Hospital (wonderful babies!!!) and it seems
I have now the opportunity to bring my experience to a paying position.
The office was over 100 degrees yesterday- we don't have AC in the admin building, this is fine and dandy between the hours of 7:30am and 11:30am- but by 1pm it is stifling..truly I swim just to bring the body temperature down nowadays...I swim because I love it, I'd do it anyway but it does serve many, many purposes for me both spiritual and physical and FUN!
Home is also registering in at about 85 degrees, and we are near the bay! Go figure...San Diego is muggy in August, that is all there is to it..and for the first time in my life I do not have a posh Air conditioned office to go sit in~ if I chose to go there..so funny...Today I confirm my meeting with the board and what we need to do a dog and pony show for donors, and I set a meeting with my development committee prospective members. Big Day!
And I get pertinent numbers, annual giving stats, and annual report along with any literature to my O.C. connection~ and consultant....
It's starting to get real, and my commitment is do stay centered in the face of all not looking like I'd like...and loving the ruffled feathers of ownership that comes with working very hard for little or no money and the feeling of lack of appreciation while I begin the task of creating a face that can be produced for donors.
Good Luck and stay Grounded in Faith! Pee Wee's Big Adventure....
