You got to understand the people, by the things they are led -
(if you wanna get the vote for you )
You got to find a way to give 'em everything they want
& deliver up a sunset sky..
and with a Lamb at every table, you can rule the world...
(if you're careful how you slice the pie).
they want a;
Budgeteer/ who holds no fear
to do what's right, and not take flight.
But if we need ; ( a meal for free )
than a Welfare Man gets the vote from me.
A better way to use hairspray
on a working Vet (who doesn't sweat)
with a babys' look- (to sink the hook)
for all who live by Gods' good book.
A Fishing Guy- (a heart to cry)
with a dashing smile; ..to go the mile
in a tax balloon (to help us reach the moon)
& a touch of Luck (for the Wall Street buck).
A Man that's smart - is what we want
& a deeper dish is on the ladies list...
if your're Minority- then it's Equality-
while a Factory, gets the vote for free.
Now when I was just a baby & a girl in the world,
I didn't think about no sunset sky -
I didn't understand the meaning of a flag unfurled,
or the hunger in a cornbread pie.
I didn't know about the anger in a poor mans' fist,
or the burdens of a diamond sky...
