lots to say...some exquisite
moments and questions about
my life as I offer up 12 boxes of locally
grown strawberries.

Just came in from Whole Foods.
Haven't unloaded the EG Mobile yet.

I feel an exquisite poem wanting to come
through.

Been taking notes all day.

I sold 12 boxes of locally grown
organic strawberries, 12 pints each box.

That was two more boxes than last week.

I gave up a number of times during the day
and wondered why I was doing this.
Wasn't there something more important to be doing
with my time?

There is a flow of people on Sundays.
It is fresh in the morning, but a number of the staff
are grumpy underneath and do not really want to be there.
It was working upstream, but I held my ground.
I kept taking notes with the time of day.

Not as many highlights as last Sunday,
but I hung in there.

I don't know what to say about the way I feel
about women.

There were two pregnant moms.

There were a number of women totally in their bodies,
their every move like poetry.

There is some kind of deep, deep experience
I want to have on this planet, some ecstatic kind
of experience that seems to be summoned up with
this love affair I have with movement and energy
as expressed in a woman's body.

I don't know what to say about it.

I kept thinking I was defying the quote of Thoreau
who speaks about how berries cannot by their nature
reach the commercial establishment.
I kept fighting to work the odds and connect this
holy food with people.

When I was down to the last berry pint,
I saw one woman at the other side looking at
the commercially grown strawberries.
I knew for sure that I could have sold her the last
pint. At the same time, there was this exquisite work
of art in female form that just entered. She was with a man
who looked very kind.

I wanted the berries to have the change to become her
and for her to have these berries be a part of her body.

I took some steps in her direction.
I told her and the man that this was the last pint of berries
and that I wanted to do a ritual.
I had my camera. I asked the man to feed her.
They wanted to go wash the berries so he did.
She was blushing. I mean who has this kind of
shopping experience?

She was really taken aback, and I could see
the bloom on her. I wanted to gave the unsmitten bloom
of the remaining berries be hers.

I took some photos.
She had a high sense of what she liked,
so we kept taking more and more pictures.

I asked her to write about her shopping experience at
Whole Foods.

She said she had never had her picture taken in
a grocery store. She said she would not forget that kind
of experience.

There was one woman about ten minutes before that
who left and walked out the door. I never had a chance
to tell her about the berries. I want to the door and gazed
in the distance, wondering if I would ever she her again.
Another poetry in motion. Exquisite.

There was a man at the end who had no money.
He was a veteran. His check had not arrived, auto deposit.
He did not know how he would eat.
I gave him a few berries. Then, he waited as I did this scene
with the last couple.

I took him out to the EG Mobile and hooked him
up with some food.

He was very appreciative. He did not know how he would
eat.

Lots more to say...

your eg
