Got Reiki!
It is now twenty-eight years since I first began sharing Reiki.

"The word 'Reiki' means spiritually guided life-force energy which has intelligence. It's term comes from two Japanese words - Rei, which means God's wisdom or the higher power and Ki which is life-force energy."[1]
I've been sharing Reiki as of the "Harmonic Convergence" of 1987. My preference is to include some Reiki in all of my private sessions with individuals wherever they may be which is conceivable since I also do distant Reiki.
Recently I shared a session in which the recipient choose to include certain gem stones he placed on his body. After the session he reported that it was "magic"! I replied that the magic was all his making. My focus was just the Reiki.

Reiki Practice Brings Physical Responses
"Physical responses to Reiki practice are not predictable, but a few occur often. Yawning, belly gurgles and increased salivation are common, and are indications of the body shifting from a stressed fight-or-flight state (sympathetic nervous system SNS) to the rest-and-digest state in which the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) dominates.
Both segments of the autonomic nervous system which controls the physical functions like breathing and heart rate that happen automatically and keep us alive are always functioning, but the one that dominates determines how you feel and how your body functions, whether your body is on auto-repeat
in stress mode, or you are poised and able to enjoy yourself and your life, and no small benefit your body digests well, sleeps well, and self heals.
The SNS activates fast to protect us in an emergency. The PNS takes longer to restore balance to the system. Reiki practice seems to encourage PNS activation, but we don't yet know how or why.
Its All About The Breath
Before any of the above responses have occurred, the breath shifts. That response is often so subtle that it goes unnoticed, but its the body's first response and the doorway to the all the rest.
When the breath shifts, everything shifts. A startled mouth breath starts a stress response, and a settled nose breath down-regulates the nervous system."[2]

As indicated by the "Self-Reiki Badge" that I have posted above here - Reiki is a part of my every day life! In my "ideal world" - everyone has the ability to give themselves Self-Reiki on a daily basis. I can easily envision empowering children with first degree Reiki and that this compliments "peer massage" that I have blogged here before.
Today I was inspired to search for the first Reiki symbol and place on that on my desktop screen. I got the symbol in my search results and at the same site also got freeware for the Destiny Cards! After installing that program I took special note of having the "Three of Clubs" as my card of the day today.
Three of Clubs-Basic Meaning -
