Prime Minister Harper and Pres. Obama - examples to follow?
Elected leaders embracing coup leaders - setting an example?
Date: 5/14/2014 11:52:00 AM ( 10 y ) ... viewed 1774 times When Prime Minister Harper and President Obama invited and welcomed the leader of an armed coup that removed the elected Prime Minister of the Ukraine, were they setting an example that we should follow?
Obama and Harper did not call for the elected government of Prime Minister Yanukovych to be restored to the Ukraine, but instead they both gave their approval of the coup leader -m "Acting Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk" - by inviting him to the White House and to Canada and welcoming him with open arms. Only days earlier Yatsenyuk had led armed thugs in the takeover of the elected government of the Ukraine.
Obama and Harper were showing support for a man who removed a government, based on the perceived misdeeds of the that government. Both Harper and Obama have been accused of misdeeds by many citizens of their nations. Are they not setting an example for the people of their nations to follow?
In fact, the intellectual community - professors, authors, think-tank members, former politicians and retired business leaders - have signed statements condemning the actions of PM Harper and his conservative government in regards to their meddling in the affairs of matters that could have been left to corporations and the governemnt regulators.PM Harper invoked "national economy" as his excuse for that meddling, and then used the government security agencies to spy on environmentalists who are opposed to certain projects related to the "national economy" that Harper invoked.
Those actions of PM Harper were very much similar to the critisizms of the deposed Ukrainian leader!!
Have I made the point? - PM Harper has been acting a lot like the deposed, elected leader of the Ukraine who was kicked out of his office by armed thugs who took over the Ukrainian government.
If we were to follow our Prime Minister's lead, then we would also depose OUR national leader, who happens to be PM Harper.
Beyond the utterly shameful hypocrisy of an democratically elected leader approving of an armed takeover by unelected miliitias, there is also tacit approval for Fascism.
Fascism? - Yes, those Ukrainian coup leaders have been associated with the Fascist style of Nazi Germany - and in fact 100s of them marched in a parade on April 28th to commemorate the formation of a Ukrainian militia that fought WITH Hitler's troops against Russia in the 2nd World War.
This is becoming an intolerable situation that begs for citizens to act.It was even more apparent when Pres. Bush was comitting his crimes. How long will we tolerate such abuses? In fact, in the USA there is planned for May 16th 2014 a "march on Washington" that demands the removal of Pres. Obama and several ther government members. It is being called "Operation American Spring" - perhaps the great shake up that I predicted for last summer is going to happen this year?
