Police and Military - Our Freind or Our Enemy?
Military is not supposed to be active "in our country", but now there are new laws to allow that to happen in the USA and Canada.

What "future fantasy scenario" would it take to convince the public of Canada and the U.S.A. that the Government, the Police, and the Military forces of their nations are the people's enemy instead of their protectors?
How about a situation where people are protesting and the military joins the police and the protestors are all arrested...
... the protests are because the majority of citizens are angry about rising prices for food and fuel, and that public schools are getting run down, nobody can afford private schools or to see a doctor, and the environment is being absolutely trashed by the oil and gas industry.
The government is not listening to the public's complaints. People are getting arrested for protesting peacefully, just sitting there with a sign you get arrested.
Even people who write letters and post online about how bad things are get arrested.
Huge outdoor gulags have a million citizens in them.
Would THAT do it for you? Would you be conviced then that the state is working AGAINST your best interests?
In reality, perhaps in the near future, if the military forces begin to change their mandate from operations overseas to being in every city and town in the USA and Canada, we should be alarmed and aware that things have changed, that "something terrible is happening".
What could we do about it? The military could just shoot us down if we protested their being in our every city and town. Perhaps we should be aware of any change in that direction before it starts, and then we would know that our governments do not deserve our votes, or our taxes, or our support.
We give government our power - the authority it has comes from us, the government is supposed to be "by the people, of the people, and FOR the people".
We say with out votes and our taxes "here, you decide how things should be run", but when they begin to act against our best interests, we have to take that power away from them and make a clean sweep and put new people, our own people, into government.
The Evidence -
1] The option for "the massive diversion of military forces to civilian uses, particularly law enforcement", is allready being legistlated by government in the USA;
2] a dangerous precedent:
the 1981 Military Cooperation with Civilian Law Enforcement Agencies Act, an act that sanctioned US military engagement with law enforcement in domestic “support operations,” including “civil disturbance” operations. The act codified the lawful status and use of military “assets” in domestic police work.
3] President Obama’s signing of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) whose Section 1021 sanctions the military detention of American citizens without charge
4] The Garden Plot Operation
"US Military Civil Disturbance Plan 55-2, code-named Operation Garden Plot"
"US military involvement in the suppression of dissent"
“civil disturbance suppression” operations, and “assisting law enforcement” within Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Currently, the Garden Plot operation is centered at the Pentagon’s Northern Command.
