For those who are healthy, it's a hell of a lot easier to be Happy!
Yes, the majority of people can in fact decide to be "upbeat" most of the time.
However, there can be real causes of various dark doldrums.
Lack of good fats, vitamin deficiency, medication, Splenda, childhood imprinting etc.
Ask any addict of drugs or alcohol and you'll find out the Merry Season isn't so Merry for a lot of them.
It can be the harbinger of oh so dark thunderheads.
A real eye opener is the The Amen Clinics.
They do brain scans that can show you "WHY" you have some of the problems you do and that you can do things to improve.

By the way, having the brain shape of a sociopath doesn't mean you'll kill or even hurt somebody over your lifetime.
If you have a "short fuse", guess what, you may have a very real cause within the brain that can be easily corrected. It's not a question of "learn to control your temper" bullsheet.
If we scanned the brain and checked all "bad" people for parasites and other factors we would come to realize there are in fact very few true "bad" people.
Most people believe they are alone in their pain and no one has ever suffered as they have or done the things they have.
I find that unbelievable but it is true.
Are you a prostitute? Did you kill someone? Were you molested? Don't believe that you can be loved because of what you've done or been though? Or that you can love someone?
All of this has happened before.
I wish I could ease you pain and suffering.
If it does anything for you, you have my love, my forgiveness, my yearning for you to have a good life.
You are not alone and have never been alone, you have always been loved and will always be loved.
If you're "stuck" with the family reunion for the Holiday, knowing the upwelling of pain to come.
Look to the sky, take a deep breath and enjoy the moment of blue.
Is it dark, gloomy, raining cats and dogs?
Take a deep breath and close your eyes. You can feel the sand between your toes, the warmth of the Sun on your back. The rolling sound of breaking waves in the near distance. The moistness of the air.
Relax and know peace.
