I Love Monsanto and Roundup Herbicide

I Love Monsanto and Roundup Herbicide

Morning writings December 13, 2011

I Love Monsanto is the near official policy of the US Government. All those who are calling for GMO Labeling, and and end to Roundup Herbicide Use, or Regulating Biotech Agriculture, need to be aware that this bumper sticker is on most government automobiles, whether seen or unseen.

"I love Monsanto!" That drives US Policy now regarding GMO's, and Roundup Herbicide. This will Shift. It must. The Earth has always been organically grown and our children ask that we return to healthy use of sustainable methods starting in our own backyards.

It is 6:12 am. I have been up early for about an hour. Anna starts moving around in the bathroom. It isn't Light yet here in San DIego. I am brimming with some good ideas and resolve. We are still having drops of rain falling from the roof of the house where I collect rainwater.

NO RAIN GUTTERS

I realize we do not have rain gutters in the front of the house. I saw torrential rains falling yesterday from the front into the ground. These soak down into the cement below the surface and cause an unhealthy condition.

It is an old house. I am grateful I can rent spaces here, that there are people who prize living in a natural environment in the City. I need to turn around my relationship with Rental Agreements here. I did to tighten up the way I approach new applicants. When push comes to shove, everyone does what is good for them.

I had two people move out in the dead of the night while I was out of town for the New Years. Both were loyal to me at different times, and very committed to the garden here, that more and more I see, lies on my neighbors property.

STRANGE BOUNDARIES ON THIS LAND

I never made much of an issue about our unusual boundaries with neighbors. I live on a lovely natural oasis that I now call the Arosa Canyon. For years we have walked down the stairs across our boundary line and gardened on a 25 or more foot slope leading down the canyon on our side. Technically, this land is owned by the people on the other side of the canyon. How this came to be so, I cannot say. I just accepted it.

BOUNDARIES NOW ARE AN ISSUE

Boundaries are now an issue. They have to be. For two months I have been spending money to clean up Overgrowth. A good portion of what I have spent is technically Arundo and other canyon brush that was on our side. I have spent more than $1500.00 getting an Arosa Canyon Education in the first steps of Community Building with Neighbors.

Part of why I spent the money on cleaning up there Arundo was that I did not want to take a change that Roundup Herbicide would be used to kill that stand of Arundo Donax (Giant Reed). Three or more enormous patches are right up against our land where we grow our organic gardens and food.

ONE PATCH CLOSEST TO THE HOUSE

How do you decide who should pay for what when you live with wild plants such as Arundo who lean onto your very own property but have their roots on the neighbors land?

I even had one of "their" Arundo climbing through my bedroom window for many months and rather enjoyed the companionship between Man and Plant. Finally, in the name of civility, I let someone, who was helping me clean my room, cut this Arundo who wanted to get in on the conversation as I would be writing my Plant Your Dream Blogs.

MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE ARUNDO

I HAVE BEEN WRITING ABOUT THIS HERE
http://plantyourdream.net/?p=6899

ARUNDO CHOPSTICKS ARE ONE OF MY 102 USES
FOR THIS MARVELOUS PLANT THAT IT HERE TO BRING US BACK
INTO SYNC WITH THE BEAT OF NATURE

I wan this morning to complete a story about my Arundo Love Affair. I must admit that the deal was sealed this past Sunday at the HIllcrest Farmers' Market. I have a tendency to do too much. I have a very difficult time getting it through my head that :More is Less, I have been using that Slogan since I ran for political office in Middle School: Les is More, and variations on the theme. I basically am too much, do too much, and have to much stuff. How about you? It is the American Way.

This past Sunday I was determined to get to the Hillcrest Farmers: Market earlier than usual. I was determined to bring less, and do more because of this. I decided to bring Nature;s Original Technology, in the form of a few Arundo Donax Reeds to the Farmers; Market with me.

THESE ARUNDO THAT I TOOK WHERE NOT TECHNICALLY MY OWN

The three pieces of Arundo I took were not technically my own. They are part of a patch that I asked Fletcher Morgan and James Potter, two up and coming youthful graduates to cut along side our property line next to the Sacred Space area where my walnut tree is now growing.

For years this Arundo Donax patch gave us privacy and a sense of living in a different world outside of the 20th and now 21st Century. This Thursday, if the weather is right, my good neighbor Dave will begin to cut the rest of that patch of privacy. As I have been saying for months, The curtain is now rising on the Enchanted Garden. What we do and how we live here will be revealed to our neighbors across the canyon through eye glasses.

We truly live a unique and wondferful abnormal life style here on our 1/3 acre. We love the earth, as I am sure our neighbors do as well, but we would never think of using Roundup Herbicide here to kill our plants.

GREAT CONTROVERSY ABOUT ROUNDUP HERBICIDE

You do not have to go too far to see that there is a great controversy about Roundup Herbicide and its Biotech Technology of Roundup Ready GMO Seeds and Herbicides. Monsanto, the makers of Roundup Herbicide, has a history of apparently putting profits over the lives of people. That appears to be the evidence if you watch the film "The World According to Monsanto."

GO SEE "THE WORLD ACCORDING TO MONSANTO" HERE
IT HERE
http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=1889193

Take 60 minutes and watch this free film on the internet. You will see a 50 yeaqr history of a small company in Saint Louis that now dominates our lives through is lions share of the profits that it makes attempting to beat the natural order.

Monsanto Corp is a master at beating the system. There is no question that Roundup is a plant killer, as much as the other chemical products they have made over the years have strongly influenced the health and well being of our world. Watch the film. You will see a history of less than apparent moral acts that have been implicated in suicides in India, crippling Agent Orange babies, and massive cover ups of Dioxin Pollution spills that have harmed and maimed.

IS GARDEN USE ROUNDUP SAFE?

Roundup Herbicide is now the most valuable asset in the Monsanto lineup of prophet makes and the Roundup Ready Technology is at the source of extreme consternation. Many would like to see GMO's Labeled. Right now Genetically Modified Organisms--brought into the marketplace by Biotechnology funded by Monsanto and its allies--are not labeled. No one
buying these products--are they are everywhere in our supermarkets--are not labeled.

With the history of Monsanto showing clearly a lack of truth telling, who can believe them when they tell us that Roundup is safe? Most people do believe this.

Most cities believe that Roundup is safe.

ENTER ARUNDO STAGE LEFT

Enter Arundo Stage Left in our Rock Your Soul Opera called Each of us Being an Organic Uprising, Each of us Standing Up for Nature's Original Technology. Who will will Biotech or nature?

I am betting on the plants, and Arundo Donax (The Giant Reed) I predict will be implicated in the impending Death not so much of weeds and grasses, but in the transformation of the corporation itself.

AROUND DONAX (THE GIATE REED)

Google it. Google Arundo Donax Your Enchanted Gardener. Google Plant Your Dream Arundo. I have been on this trail for months, at a time when my entire world, and our entire world is coming closing to the end of the world as we know it. That is the message I am saying for 2012.

IT IS TIME TO ASCEND INTO 2012

It is time to ascend into 2012. We cannot go on as we are. If the Mayans had not created a Calendar that technically ended on October 28, 2011, I would say there were a million other reasons for each of us to turn away from our death defying lifestyles and human racing that are clearly killing us.

We simple have to return to the beat of nature. We simply have to begin, many of us to regain our confidence that we can grow our own foods.

GOOGLE KEEP THE BEET

Google Beet Keepers of the World Unite. You will see this message from a talking beet who, a mystical magical made up character. The talking beet was lonely in the field, so she looked around and found me, someone who already talked to plants. Now you too, can learn to talk to a beet plant by simply growing one in a pot. Keep The Beet. Eat the greens. You will start your way home to regaining your beat with Nature.

I LOVE MONSANTO

There is no question that this is the sticker that could be on most government vehicles, including our President;s car as well as on Air Force One, our Commander in Chief'ss Airplane.

There is no question. Monsanto Rules Government Regulatory practices as certainly as there is a revolving door between our Food and Drug Administration, The EPA, and the USDA.

The reason GMO's are not Labeled today is because the Unofficlal Policy of the US Government and the majority of Senators and Reps is that they believe BIotechnology is good for America.

The government is banking on science to bring us home, and the science they are banking on is Biotechnology. This is where the money is going. This is where the money is. Follow trail. Look at the ongoing deregulation of Biotech crops, and the EPA not taking action to halt Monsanto, although they have gone so far as to slap their hands.

SEE THIS ONE LAST WEEK
http://www.gmfreeze.org/news-releases/173/

A review by the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) [1] describes Monsanto’s insect resistance monitoring strategy for Bt maize in the US Midwest as “inadequate and likely to miss early resistance events”. It also highlights how the crop itself may be causing the problem and how a failure to enforce mitigation measures, like refuges and rotations, is making it worse.

“What’s happening to Bt crops in the US Midwest underlines that GM is not a panacea and it is not sustainable. There is an urgent need for scientists and farmers to develop new systems of agronomy based on agroecology, which we know is an system effective over time.

“Europe’s precautionary approach to GM crops is proving very wise as time passes and more and more problems with GM come to the fore. Now is no time to change.”

I personally have a warm spot for the folks who work for Monsanto. I know many of them are good people. I have met the people who come to BIO, the Biotechnology Industry Organization. I love science and consider my visits to the AAASm our lead science conference and BIO as two of my most valued Press Pass outings.

What an education to attend BIO and AAAS.

http://curezone.com/upload/Blogs/Your_Enchanted_Gardener/Margaret_Spellings_at_BIO_2008.jpg

This is a photo I took of Margaret Spellings, then US Sec of Education under President George Bush. She was a keynote speaker at BIO, the Biotechnology Industry Organiizaition in 2008 held in San Diego. The room was filled with Science Teachers on scholarship there at BIO. They were guiding kids into dissecting DNA. This is the going philosophy of science in America that says BIotechnology and Roundup are good for business and our future. This is the lead position at the AAAS, our most notable science in America group. They are in favor of Biotechnology for Ag and Life. They believe in it. They are funded by it. They support it. They believe it is good for America and good for the Arosa Canyon. Nature, in my opinion, says NOT.

I loved my time at BIO in San Diego 2008. These folks really know how to party. The folks supporting the Biotech industry are good people, and yet the whole concept that we can have our way with Nature is off the mark. It is one of the fundamental underpinnings of why we have a failing economy and why the health of our kids is going down the test tube.

Don't look now, GMO's are not the worst of our nightmares. Under the Radar is a whole other technology called Nanotechnology based on a similar idea that genes are real estate. Nanotech is already here. It is creeping innocently that has crept innocently into society under cover. Both of these sciences, GMO and Nano, have this fundamental flaw. They believe it is O.K. to mess with our DNA and play God. They believe they can have their way with Nature and win out.

HA! SUPERWEED AND SUPERBUGS

This is the new Hot Cornroot worm beetle, evolutionary model 2011 thanks to Monsanto Bt corn resistance. It is killing corn through the midwest now, GMO Corn. Build a strong immune system through Arundo soil building of topsoil and you can resist this kind of bug.

Attempt to outsmart Nature, and Nature will cost us. Using Roundup here in the Arosa Canyon is an attempt to outsmart nature. I have complete compassion and understanding for my neighbors. We did not ask for this headache now. We did not ask for letters suggesting that if we did not handle our Overgrowth in the Arosa Canyon we would be fined or have our homes
potentially jeoparized with large fines.

LOOK AT THIS SUPERBUG THAT IS KILLING OFF
GM CORN NOW!

COMING TOGETHER IN AN AROSA CANYON ASSOCIATION
TO FIGURE OUT LONG TERM SOLUTIONS

Look around, my friend! Look around my neighbor! We are in a mess here in the Arosa Canyon. We are allowing Roundup in now here because there are no laws against using it. We are letting it in because, we are not coming together as a group to come up with a long term approach to this lovely open space Arosa Canyon.

Roundup is not the answer to dealing with our Arundo. The answer is communicating with our city elected officials and getting support. We are each as neighbors facing an economic burden here to clean up this canyon ourselves against timelines. Policies need to shift. A lot of discussion is needed, community building, and alliance making. If this were public land, there would be an extensive Environmental Impact Report here and funds made available to take on the Arundo. What is the plan for erosion control longrange? How do we best use the extensive water supply that flows down into the Canyon each time it rains? How do we protect the Canyon from Fire, and still honor the environment and all the species of plants and animals that live here? All these need to be studies and discussed.

NOTE THAT ARUNDO WAS MULCHED AND RETURNED TO THE 32ND STREET CANYON

Herbicides were used. There are other approaches without herbicides that will work as well, according to the protocols suggested by the There was a community project, many working together, to restore the canyon.

DOWN THE SLIPPERY SLOPE OF HERBICIDE USE

The evidence is clear: Use Roundup Herbicide and this Biotechnology applied to plants and you create superweeds that kill your profits and bug such as the newly evolving Cornroot worm and its beetle, that will throw your profits for a loop.

In the case of the Arosa Canyon, neighbors are turning to Roundup here because it is seem as harmless, and appears to be a way to get rid of the problem of the Arundo. Time will show if this was a good course of action.

RESEARCH IS OUT THERE INDICATION THAT ROUNDUP IS DANGEROUS

Research is out there indicating that Roundup is dangerous, but this is not yet common knowledge:

REPORTS SUGGEST EXERCISING CAUTION
ABOUT ROUNDUP. CHECK THIS OUT

THE GOING PHILOSOPHY HERE FOR FIRE PREVENTION
IN SAN DIEGO

The current and present philosophy--and this I aim to shift through gentle education--is that there are alternatives solutions to killing off our Arundo Donax (Giant Reed); beyond this, there are ways to manage this plant and harvest it as a crop that is here to help us get back our beat with nature.

My good neighbors and the fire prevention department itself are under the gun of financial duress. We all believe that through calling Arundo Trash, through being O.K. with killing it with Roundup, we are somehow going to get rid of this plant that we call an invasive species and Devil Weed.

SIT BACK AND WATCH

Sit back and watch. Listen to the birds that disappeared here before we spray. Feel your own glands swell, as mine did from the whiffs of our first spraying of Roundup Herbicide here.

Look at some of the research. I will demonstrate here in the coming months that it is safe to mulch Arundo. I am setting out to demonstrate that you can compost Arundo and in doing so, build soil.

I will demonstrate that it is in the best interest of neighbors to join together and create a long term policy that shifts San Diego FIre Prevention Codes for Brush Management.

WE SIMPLY CANNOT CAN ARUNDO TRASH

We simply cannot trash Arundo Donax at our landfill, and use the Roundup approach if we want the Blessings of nature and and the blessings of good health in our lives.

I have chosen my path.
I leave it to you to choose yours.
