Day 42
Detox, Food, Celebration and Just Say NO to Pickle Juice...
Date: 7/3/2011 3:48:21 PM ( 13 y ) ... viewed 30450 times Major detox yesterday. It seemed every bit of my body was focused on healing "something" and I was out for the count. I really felt awful and am so glad it only lasted one day. I slept like a rock last night, not moving once from the position I fell asleep in.
It's getting harder and harder to stay focused on the goals of this fast. I want to eat, pure and simple. It's 4th of July weekend, everyone is celebrating with activities and food, and I'm obstaining... (sigh)
I also worry that I'm not losing much weight. I caved in and weighed myself a few days ago. The scale gave me three different weights, none of which equaled a pound per day of weightloss, which is the typical weightloss during a fast, especially during the first 40 days. Not very encouraging and I'm beating myself up for even stepping on the scale. Bad results really set you up for difficult days ahead... I knew better...
Regarding the pickle juice, again, I wouldn't recommend it during a fast. Before a marathon, absolutely! The salt content for fasters is just way too high and the vinegar creates an acidic environment which you want to avoid while fasting. Your body really needs to be in an alkaline state in order to heal. I actually tried some again after my initial post and the juice tasted BAD. It was overbearing. I guess I got whatever I needed from the juice and my body was done with it.
I hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July weekend. Best of health to you all...
