Evolution deniers ask a question
Evolution does not mean the original line dies off

Evolution Deniers - clearing up one idea
Okay, so think what you will about the question of "if evolution is real or if some higher power designed people", but when arguing about evolution there is a question going around about evolution that tries to show that evolution is not real, and that I just have to debunk this question. Once again, as with other denials of reality, this is "pseudo science", it doesn't hold water.
The denier question is:
"If humans evolved from primates, then why are there still primates around?"
My simple reply:
"the original line does not die off".
The evidence comes from my Grade 8 biology class, where we bred fruit flies to show how genetic changes can be introduced - fruit flies are good for this because they have such short lifespans and it can be done quickly. We bred a new trait into the flies, and the original line of flies, with their original traits, still existed.
So the original line of primates continues to exist when a genetic change occurs that leads to the development of another line, another species, such as primates to humans. The "denier question" fails to show that evolution of humans from apes would mean apes should not exist today.
Evolution deniers are generally religious people. I do not know one atheist who does not accept evolution as real. I am allways willing to be told I am wrong, so if you are a devowed atheist and do not believe that evolution is real, please post a reply/comment here on this blog!! [SVP]
