Question 1 How do you get rid of candida?
So, how does one get rid of candida? To understand the answer, one must also understand what it is and what it does. I have had more people tell me that they did a candida cleanse for 6 months and nothing happened. The reason? Your colon needs candida! Candidiasis albicans is a normal part of the colon flora. It is your janitor, commissioned to clean up toxins in the colon. When it is treated properly with a good diet free from chemicals and antibiotics, it does its job. But, when subjected to stressors such as antibiotics, chemicals, refined sugar diets and stress, the colon begins to inflame. This leads to irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulosis, diverticulitis and, in extreme cases, Chron's disease. All of these are variations of the same problem, a colon that is not functioning properly. When this occurs, an individual may complain of bloating, "brain fog", depression and about 65 other conditions. Part of the problem is that as the function of the colon (to filter toxins and prevent their entering the bloodstream) is impaired, toxins enter the bloodstream as aldehydes. These toxins can no longer be excreted from the system and they build up in tissue and can be a major player in fibromyalgia. Additionally, food particles can now enter the blood stream and these foods now activate the immune response and food "allergies" begin to appear. All of us know individuals who "test" allergic to every food imaginable. In reality, these people have leaky gut syndrome and the allergic reaction is a result of the inflamed diverticulae of the colon. Dieting to rid ourselves of candida won't solve the problem. What needs to be done is, first heal the colon; second, rid the body of toxic build up and finally rebuild the friendly flora of the colon. (It should go without saying, that improving one's diet is a given.) So, to do this requires that we clear away toxins. For serious situations, I recommend a simple castor oil pack which is found on our Foods and Flushes section of the website. This may have to be done several times, but it is very simple, straightforward and easy. Simultaneously, I recommend a ¼ cup of aloe vera juice, morning and evening. (I prefer George's because it has no taste.) Some of you have said that George's is too highly refined and has no medicinal value. All aloe vera has no medicinal value 4 hours after the cutting. I am using it simply to coat the colon to give it time to heal. I also recommend 2 capsules of New Zealand colostrums 3x daily to help rebuild the inflamed tissue. Further, I recommend adding 3 drops of liquid molybdenum to the George's to help convert the aldehydes to easily excreted toxins. I also recommend 1 capsule of good digestive enzymes before every meal and 2 caps of probiotics 3x daily. Usually this clears the problem within about 3 months. Then, if the colon is kept healthy, we should never see another round of this problem again.

Question 2: How does one do a colon cleanse?
Question 2: How does one do a colon cleanse? Nature intended for animals to keep their colons clear by diet. In ancient times, these "clearing cleanses" amounted to fasting. Anyone who has fasted for any time beyond 3 days, will tell you that the odor can be, shall we say, interesting? These are toxins clearing from the body. But, outside of fasting, my recommendation is to begin with a castor oil pack. Then proceed to a simple dietary change to increases fiber intake. I recommend 1 part of psyllium seed husks plus 3 parts of golden flaxseed and ¼ to ½ part of cascara sagrada. This mixture should be ground in a coffee grinder and 1 tabelspoon taken in yogurt, cereal, salads, etc., each morning for two to three weeks. Then increase to 1 tablespoon a.m. and p.m. This regime should be continued forever as the hman body requires a minimum of 45 grams of fiber a day and this combination approaches that requirement. When beginning a colon cleanse reduce red meat (for the first 30 days) to zero. Substitute with poultry or fish. (Some prefer to begin with a diet exclusively of soups and salads.) This may be a bit extreme, so my advice is just stay away from sugar! The psyllium seed is water soluble fiber, the flaxseed oil soluble and the cascara sagrada, strengthens peristalsis or the muscle movement of the colon. Not only will this clear the colon of toxins, but it will help clear arteries of placque (without surgery) but will promote healthy hormonal function. And that brings us to the final question.

Question 3: Why do hormones make you go crazy?
In reality, hormones don't make us go crazy! It is the improper balance that makes us all nuts. Hormones are chemicals released by cells that affect cells in other parts of the body like tiny messengers. These can be measured by levels of neuro peptides. Only a small amount of hormone is required to alter cell metabolism. Even a small imbalance can cause "craziness" as anyone who has experienced this will attest. Hormones in animals are often transported in the blood. Cells respond to a hormone when they express a specific receptor for that hormone. The hormone binds to the receptor protein, and when these are out of balance it causes a lowering of amino acids (proteins) and this can cause so-called bi-polar disorder and even symptoms of scizophrenia. I almost always recommend that a simple saliva test be conducted that is available from ZRT labs. These tests in California require that the test be "signed off " by a physician, chiropractor, physician's assistant or RN. Several of our network chiropractors carry these kits...Pacific Family Chiropractic and Convoy Village Chiropractic carry these tests. My opinion is that every persona, male and female, over 30 do this every year as part of an overall health program. Until next time, let's stay healthy out there!

Disclaimer
Nothing in this newsletter should be construed as medical advice and, as always, you should consult with a physician concerning your health. The forum is simple. Send us a question and we will endeavor to answer it in as simple a manner as possible in the upcoming issue. I have always believed that simple is usually the answer. If you are buying into the "let's treat every symptom now" routine, you are probably going to be disappointed. I have seen people leave a "natural care" practitioner's office with hundreds of dollars of supplements only to have nothing happen except a somewhat lighter bank account. As always, buyer beware and remember that natural healing is a process that can take some time. There are many factors that lead up to a chronic condition and, without seeing a client, it is often difficult to make hard and fast rules and solutions. So please understand that we will try to give you the answer with the available information you supply.
