Why are we so fascinated with the stars
The 81st Oscar Awards were indeed memorable and thank God we got away from the corny year before.
Date: 2/23/2009 6:00:13 PM ( 15 y ) ... viewed 1214 times I closed my forum last night to watch the Oscars as many did also. It was an event I waited for and had to do a search on the internet to see where it was being broadcast so I had to program a new station, Fox Movies. They had exclusive rights. Lord, that must of cost dearly.
I so wanted to see the preshow more than the Oscar's as wanted to see the dresses and who was with who. It is a gossip party for sure. But so love it. I had my favorites of course and then there were the stars like Mickey Rourke I detest. But you got to know a softer side of the man who stated he lost his dog 6 days earlier and he was wearing a necklace with the dog's name on.
Everyone watched as Jennifer Aniston was on stage in front of Brad and Angelina and all the cameras zoomed in on Jolie went she laughed at the jokes. We all feel sorry for Jennifer.
Loved Hugh Jackman's performances and when he took Anne Hathaway in his arms and looked at her liked he was in love with her, oh my dear, the heart palpatations. I so think his wife is so lucky. hahahhah.
Just loved Steve Martin and tolerate Tina Fey but their skit was cute. He tells her, "Don't fall in love with me."
Real cute.
Overall the show was a huge hit and we saw some emotional moments with the Heath Ledger family accepting the award for his daughter. I never really cared for the man except in the beginning I liked his movie, "The ten reasons I hate you." I like many felt he got the award because he is dead, but don't you think that it is proper anyway. I do hope everyone is very careful of mixing pharms like he is. I never take pharms unless it is an extreme case of emergency. His was indeed a sad story of neglect.
I loved also how they had 5 big stars that won awards before in the Best Actor and Best Actress awards. That was wonderful to see all the biggies on stage together.
Oh well, what is our next star watching? Look forward to more happy times.
