Day 1: The beginning of 6 weeks of HELL!
In order to achieve something you've never had, you must do something you've never done

I was always the girl with the beautiful face that should really lose weight. I am now just a fat girl who no longer has a beautiful face because I have let myself go sooooooo much.
SO I have decided to take back my life and regain confidence in myself!!!
I have tried for the last several weeks to start a water fast and was only able to last 1 day!!! Not very inspiring or motivational :( There are so many amazing people on the forum who are able to fast for long periods of time, but i don't seem to be one of those people!!! :( So I have decided that I have to find a way to lose weight without completely giving up food.
I came across the quote in my headline a while back and when I first read it it resonated with me. I have never been thin, but then again I have never exercised, eaten right, or even tried to restrict myself in any way. So if I want to be slim, I have to do all of these things. And the quicker I want to see results, the more extreme I must be.
In the last several months I have found myself surfing the net trying to find websites that will tell you exactly how you can lose 1 pound of fat a day. I was inspired after watching "The Biggest Loser" and seeing how extreme their weightloss results were. I could only find one site that was created by a man. I know that women have an extremely more difficult time losing weight than men because our bodies are made of so much more fat. So basically there really was no source of guidance for me. Therefore, I have decided to embark on a 1 pound a day weightloss program that I have created myself!
Now I work full time, so I really had to think about how I could achieve such dramatic results without actually fasting all of the time. This is what I came up with:
1. Based on my past experience I know that I can fast for 1.5 days. Not eating for a couple of days a week will help me to restrict the number of calories consummed weekly and thus aid in weightloss;
2. I need to increase my activity level drastically. A pound is made up of 3500 calories. In order to lose a pound of fat a day I need to lose 3500 calories a day + lose any calories I consume. As a result of this I have calculated (using this website
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php)
the number of calories I use a day and have determined what exercise I will need to do in order to reach a 1 pound loss daily (*I do note that as I lose weight I will have to increase my activity level even greater than this in order to achieve the same caloric loss, but for now this is what I need to do):
5am-7am - 1000 cal loss - on treadmill (I will need to adjust my machine according to my own weight in order to achieve the 1000 cal. loss).
7am-8am - 100 cal loss - get ready for work
8am-8:05am - 25 cal loss - walk to the bus stop
8:05am-8:30am - 42 cal loss - commute to work
8:30am-12:30pm - 400 cal loss - sitting doing office work
12:30pm-1:30pm - 300 cal loss - walk at lunch
1:30pm-5:00pm - 270 cal loss - sitting doing office work
5pm-5:30pm - Possible 500 max. cal gain - eat dinner. Now if I manage to fast for the day then these calories will not be added to the daily total I need to get rid of. Thus if I fast, yet continue with the exercise program I should be able to push myself ahead of schedule. Or even if I don't eat as much as 500 calories in the meal I will still have a deficit of calories. If I do decide that I need to eat that day then I must restrict myself to 1 meal a day consisting of only vegetables and protein (NO OTHER CARBS!) I know this is an extreme calorie reduction but I reiterate that extreme action is required for extreme results. I also know that there are those who would argue that calorie reduction to this level will only slow down my metabolism, thus, preventing weightloss. But I believe that the amount of exercise that I will be doing will be enough to keep my metabolism relatively high.
5:30pm-6:45pm - 375 cal loss - walk home
6:45pm-7pm - 25 cal loss - change into workout gear and get ready for workout
7pm-10:30pm - 1000 cal loss - on treadmill (I gave myself longer to reach the 1000 cal loss since I anticipate being quite tired after walking so much already throughout the day)
10:30pm-11pm - 60 cal loss - quick arm toning exercise and shower/get ready for bed
11:00pm-5am - 400 cal loss - sleep
So basically it is no magic formula. It's exactly what everyone has told you in the past. Eat less and exercise more. Only I plan on doing it even more extremely. I know this plan is extreme and it may be an impossible task, but I am going to try it. For the next 6 weeks I plan to push myself as much as I possibly can following this program and will log my progress here daily.
In my future posts (to be posted the morning after) you can expect to see:
a)What amount of exercise I actually managed to do that day;
b)What food (if any) I ate that day;
c)A total of the calories lost vs. consumed that day
d)Weight change (if any).
e)My thoughts and feelings during the process.
God please help me to be strong enough to make it through these next 6 weeks!
