Water fast and ketosis

Ok, I know I'm a little bit early here as I said I would post before bed and it is not even noon in Hawaii.
After doing some research, I have found out the reason why my body fat is going up and it isnt my body fat monitor.
It's because I am losing water and muscle!
Even though I am in ketosis I am not losing fat like I had first thought.
That is what the low carb diet books tell you is happening at least.
I know that I am doing a water fast and that being in ketosis is but one part of the overall benefit of water fasting.
Truth is ketosis is not a benefit.
Research has shown that people on a low carb diet, though lose more weight than other diets lose the same amount of fat.
secondly, The typical Japanese diet is high in carbs with all that rice and noodles.
The Eskimo and Inuit diet tends to be high in fat and low in carbs right?!
I am under the impression that most people who follow a japanese diet (Mainly japanese people :-P) tend to be thin and I have yet to see a shredded eskimo.
This is just my amateur opinion based on my hunt and peck research and monitoring of my own measurements.
The water fast itself is proving to be very spiritual.
I am definitely detoxing according to all the information out there.
I feel a lot better right now, but the feeling comes and goes.
So far on day three there have been more ups than downs.
I am now at... Well, I won't tell my weight yet.
I'll save that for my before bed post.
So in essence, I think ketosis is overrated and I KNOW that it is possible to lose a rediculous amount of weight on a water fast.
