Tree Trimming
The largest tree on our property is being cut now
to cut it away from digging into the garage.
It is bringing up a lot.

I could not possible focus my mind now
if I wanted to.
Tim Safford did a kind job
piecing together the Enchanted Garden Sign
on the garage that fell to broken limbs of branches
caught in its canvas.
It is an old sign.
I will miss the overhanging Brazilan Pepper Tree
on the front of the garage.
I am sure the birds will miss the part of the tree
that is gone. About one half will remain.
The sound of the chipper is horrendous.
The work goes fast, Tim says.
I asked him if he plants trees too.
He said, he plants whatever the customers want.
I am wanting to call back Bill Tall at the City Farmers Nursery.
A wiser man than I would do the appropriate use of all the
Acid rich mulch. I do not know how it could be used.
Could a more conscious job be done on my part as
steward overseeing the cutting back of this tree from the garage?
This is the largest tree on our 1/3 acre, but not the highest.
It was the most Full.
The last of the baby hummingbirds were gone from the
nest this morning.
The nest is not more than five feet from the chipper.
How do not imagine they could have survived the havoc?
I am absorbed in the delicacy of the new garden growth
and the intensity and swiftness of cutting that seems to
belong to a different kind of world.
Someone else might have made a six month project out
of this. I cannot say for sure what it would have taken
to do this job by hand. How would a person get so much
stuff off the property?
It is something to consider what the use of our energy grows.
So much mass gone.
Why did so much have to be taken away.
All this started from a seed.
I am wearing earmuffs now.
I could not take so much cutting into my body.

Much coming up...
I did not pray on the cutting of the tree
before we did it.
When it was done, I saw a use for some of the
chipped wood. I would have liked to have kept it
on the property.
It was high acid. It could have been used where I did
not want things to grow.
I called Bill. He was not there. I did not get an answer
from Michael that I felt good about. He said, use it
as a bottom layer or something.
I feel bad that I had it all hauled away.
I would have kept my own stuff here.
I just called Bill. He agreed that that kind of super acid
chips would be good to keep weeds down.
