First healing crisis? Maybe.
 
Well, I think I had my first healing crisis. It came in the form of intense, accute depression. It lasted a few hours then vanished as fast as it came on. I feel perfectly relaxed and zen now. I think that I got into a pocket of bad toxins today. It just brought out some intense feelings that I needed to work through. This is such an amazing process. Details of today, juices, ketones, and symptoms from today.
 
I just had my second juice for the day. AM juice was my triple orange juice - tangerine, canteloupe, and carrots. It’s a good blend. PM - pineapple ginger. I crave that pineapple juice! It’s probably the sugar, but whatever. Maybe it is the mineral/vitamin content. I don’t know. But I’m honoring the craving. I need some veggie juice, as I haven’t been very balanced. I read somewhere the fruit juice makes you detox faster, whereas vegetable juice makes the detox process much easier because of less blood sugar up and downs. The REAL reason I am doing this fast - VERY LONG and involved
 
Each day, this is getting a little harder. It isn’t that I’m hungry, but I just can’t stop thinking about food. It’s really strange. I’m so focused on food. I watch tv, and there are people eating. I listen to the radio, and there are food commercials. Even now, I’m in an empty house, and the food is all around me. It’s hard. I’m not going to break down, because I’m stubborn like that, but it is harder than I thought. What’s strange is that even foods I don’t eat are looking appealling to me! Summing up my afternoon. Fighting off food cravings . . .
 
Today was a long day. It was very stressful at work. I worry about the stress interfering with the fast. The stress also makes me want to eat out of comfort. I was/am really craving crunchy things - and would have loved to sit down with a big bowl of chips and salsa. But people are noticing my weight loss and that is keeping me going. I love getting compliments about it. My manager told me today that I’m the only person whe knows that actually is managing to really lose weight for a big event. I’m determined, though. Four in the morning, watermelon juice, getting reading for work.
 
It’s only four in the morning! I have to get to work. I didn’t get enough sleep last night. I stayed up to watch my favorite tv show - No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain and didn’t get to sleep til almost midnight. I had to wake up at 3:45. That’s hard. If I can, I will nap this afternoon. I made some watermelon juice this morning. A huge glass. It was a quarter of a watermelon. I decided to just do a mono-juice this morning. Some food cravings, but in good spirits
 
I did pineapple ginger juice for my last juice today. It was great. I can’t get enough pineapple juice. I am juicing like one a day - which is getting pretty expensive! I also had another bm - totally different from the last one. This one was very loose, almost sandy, and lighter in color. I am really shocked that I had two in day, when I’m not doing any flushes, laxatives, etc. I wonder if it is a sign that my digestive system is still working? I thought it was supposed to be resting. back from the pool, my juices for today
 
I relaxed this morning and then went to the pool at noon and sunned myself for an hour. It felt so good! For my lunch juice I had a veggie mix which has become my favorite way to drink veggies - spinach, celery, tomato, garlic, lime and cayenne. It was great. I made a little juice cocktail to take to the pool with me, too - catneloupe, blackberries, blueberries, and an apple. It was so good! I am so happy this morning! I almost gave up last night! I fought myself away from my cravings. I wanted some hummus and pita so bad when I was watching tv last night. SO BAD! But I didn’t give in! I kept it up. I thought I was just depressed. Having gone to Dinsey and seeing everyone eating all around me - it made me feel down. And of course, that bad weigh in didn’t help. I think now that I must have been having a healing/detox crisis. Because I ended the night with a splitting headache, a neck ache, joint pain, depressed mood, anxiety, and more. the hardest day yet
 
I broke my rule about not weighing in this morning and was very sad with what I found. In seven days of juice fasting I have only lost two pounds! That’s crazy! I thought I’d lose much more than this. I mean, I honestly expected a loss of four to five pounds. To say that this has taken the wind out of my sails is an understatement. I am totally confused and sad! I can’t believe it. I haven’t overdone the juices, or anything. What gives? I thought a pound a day loss was normal. I just got back from the pool and had my afternoon lunch. It was a blend of zuchinni, celery, lime, garlic, tomato, and cayenne. It was great. Very satisfying. I also have already killed my water for the day, as I have been very thirsty. I also just had a very odd bm. I thought that they stopped without some kind of flush. Day six overview.
 
I got to sleep in this morning! When you wake up a 3:45 AM at least three days a week, as many as four or five, sleeping in is the biggest treat. I slept from 9:30 last night to 8:30 morning, waking only once to pee. It was very deep sleep, but I did dream. I recollect dreaming about eating food and not enjoying it - mashed potatoes! I also dreamed of being at my childhood home. I often dream of that, not sure of the signifigance. This AM I had a lovely, light juice. It was canteloupe, nectarine, and a little passion fruit. My afternoon/evening.
 
I don’t think I’ll post three times a day, every day, but today I’m off from work, so I have a little more time on my hands. Tonight my husband was a sweetheart and went by the market on the way home and got me some pineapples. So I could have my lovely pineapple ginger juice. I love it so very, very much. It just tastes amazing, not quite as sweet as most fruit juices and the ginger gives it the perfect kick. I also completed my goal of over 100 oz of water for today, which made me feel really good. I did see some results from the salt water flush. It was a full hour after drinking the concoction, but it finally did help me to clean my colon. It felt good to release those toxins. I don’t think I am going to do a SWF every day, but maybe every other day? I don’t know. If I feel pretty good that way, I think that’s what I’ll do. I went to the mall and got juice at a fancy juice bar there. I had a fruit juice. It was okay. I like my own juice more. I didn’t drink more than a third of it. day five morning update
 
I just tried a SWF and it didn’t go well. I couldn’t force myself to drink the entire quart of it. I only had a little more than half. Nothing has happened yet, so I don’t think I took enough to flush my bowels. It made me feel terrible, too. I guess I’m going to have to investigate enemas, because I just can’t handle that SWF. It’s gross. Right now I’m having some juice for breakfast, since I don’t need to work today. I get to have my am juice later this morning. Today is day four on the juice fast. It was even better today! I felt very little hunger, even when preparing food for the kids that I previously liked (vegan mock chicken nuggets and natural baked french fries). For my am juice (at 4AM, due to my work schedule) I had a juice of beet, cucumber, and watermelon. I had 60 oz of water during the day. For my afternoon juice, I had plum, nectarine, apple, carrot juice. I had an additional 60 plus oz of lemon water. Then for dinner, my favorite again - pineapple ginger! It is so good. Day one went smoothly. I was pretty hungry and craved fat like avocados. I had green juice in the AM, and carrot fruit juice later in the day. I use a Breville juice fountain elite, by the way. I also drank a pitcher of water with lemon. My start weight was 149. Day two also went well. I was still somewhat hungry, craving fruit. I had green juice again in the morning, and fruit/carrot blends later in the day. I drank even more water, most likely over 100 oz. Day three was better. I had fewer food cravings.
