Amazing Grace is about Liberation! 6 y
** Amazing grace is about your liberation from sin and death! **
Amen! The hymn ” Amazing Grace ” has been used for many different things over the years since John Neston pinned it in 1748. He lived a hard-headed life, the son of a wealthy man, his mother raised him (an only child) on the Holy Scriptures until her death when he was an early teen.
He went thru many opportunities and even became a Slave in West Africa almost dying - he was ”once an infidel and libertine, a servant of slaves in West Africa but the God intervened. Then he was rescued thru faith and while on the returning the ship he was almost sunk. It was in that setting he came back ... read more

Holiness should always be our Nature! 6 y
** When a Christian does sin and allows the devil an opportunity to produce death in his life, the way to stop this is to confess the sin. **
Our nature should always be in Holiness
Matthew 24:13
”But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
Here, Jesus teaches that the believer must persevere to receive complete salvation. Salvation is a gift that cannot be earned or maintained by our own works. It has to be received by faith. However, there is an effort on our part to maintain that faith. This is where holiness comes in.
Holiness will not produce a relationship with God, nor will a lack of holiness make God turn away from us. He deals with us according to our faith in Jesus, not our performa ... read more
Joy have you found it yet? 6 y
** The world experiences joy and happiness in direct proportion to their circumstances. Bad circumstances produce depression and sorrow, while good circumstances produce joy and peace. **
Joy is a gift from God that was given to us at salvation.
John 16:33 ”These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
The world experiences joy and happiness in direct proportion to their circumstances. Bad circumstances produce depression and sorrow, while good circumstances produce joy and peace. That’s bondage and does not have to be the case for a Christian. Our joy is not dependent on things, but rather on the person of Jesus Christ. He is our peace and joy. He is n ... read more
Therefore the world hates you! 6 y
** Persecution is a token that those persecuting you are under false conviction. They believe lies and the falsehoods of evil. When the gospel is presented in the power of the Holy Spirit, there will always be either revival or riot, but not indifference.
**
* Therefore the world hates you! *
John 15:19 ”If you were of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, and because I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you!”
We should not think it is strange to be persecuted. ”All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution”
(2 Tim. 3:12).
We can actually rejoice because we are being persecuted for Jesus’ sake, and the Lord will be with us in the midst of the persecution. When we stand before Him, there will be more than ample reward.

Note on Ephesians 4:3
The Greek word “SPOUDAZO,” which was translated “endeavoring” in this verse, means “to use speed, i.e. to make effort, be prompt or earnest” (Strong’s Concordance). So, we are to make every effort to keep the unity of the faith, but we need to remember that it takes two to be in unity. We can’t accomplish this if others are unwilling to be in unity with us. As Paul said in Romans 12:18, “If it be possible, as much as is within you, live peaceably with all men.”

Don't miss God looking the wrong direction 6 y
** The Lord wants us to focus on Him through faith and not concentrate on the physical things He uses. **
** How we often miss the stupendous which is really right before us!
John 14:7
”If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.”
Knowing Jesus is knowing the Father. This is not only because Jesus did exactly what He saw His Father do, but Jesus was God in the flesh.
The disciples didn’t realize that seeing Jesus was seeing God. They were expecting something more. Many times we miss seeing God work in our lives and circumstances because we are looking for something stupendous. Although it is true that God is to ... read more

John 14:2 ”In my Father’s house are many mansions {wonderful places}: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
This is Jesus’ last teaching to His disciples before His crucifixion.
Jesus’ disciples were about to go through the greatest test of their faith that they had ever encountered. Jesus said that He was saying these things so His disciples would not be offended. Jesus was preparing them for what was to come. Why then speak of preparing them a mansion in heaven?

Luke 22:32
”But I have prayed for you, that your faith fails not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brethren.”
The concept of ”conversion” is mentioned in the Holy Scriptures at least 14 times. The basic meaning of the term is a turning or returning to God.
{Either turning or returning is the whole message of being converted!}
This implies a turning away from sin and a turning to God. Repentance and putting faith in God are corresponding synonyms to conversion.

John 13:35 ”By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another.”
Jesus didn’t say that all men would know we are His disciples by our doctrine, our rituals, our hatred for sin, or even by the way we express our love for God. He said very clearly, that the one characteristic that would cause the world to identify us as His followers, is our love, one for another.
This same night, the Lord prayed to His Father using this same thought saying, ”That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one ... read more

Love the way words can never fully express 6 y

Love the way words can never fully express
John 13:34
”A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, this is how you should also love one another.”
Jesus previously stated that all the law and the prophets were dependent on loving God first, and then loving your neighbor as yourself. These truths were already in the law but people missed them. So, this commandment was not new in the sense that it had never been given before, but it was brought to the forefront and given new meaning through the example of Jesus. Life is? #343 Selah - A transliteration? 6 y
**
Many commentators think that Selah meant 'to pause' or 'to reflect'. This could have been a request for the reader or listener to pause and think about what has just been said, or it could have been a space for voices to pause and for instruments play alone. We don't really know for certain. Yet this points to evidence that both Hebrew and Greek are both multilevel languages which express and bring deeper meaning plus knowledge to those who read and seek the true meanings which the Lord God has placed in our feeble hands! **

Selah. This beautiful, thoughtful, yet mysterious word appears in the Bible primarily in the book of Psalms.
But what does it mean, and why is it there?
The question of what Selah means has been debated for centuries. Many have suggested that it means, ”to pause, or to reflect”, and this explanation makes sense based on the context. However, the uncertainty of what it actually means or why it is there has led some modern Bible translations to take th ... read more

Last Supper, also called Lord’s Supper, in the New Testament, the final meal shared by Jesus and his disciples in an upper room in Jerusalem, the occasion of the institution of the Eucharist.
The story of the Last Supper on the night before Christ’s crucifixion is reported in four books of the New Testament (Matthew 26:17–29; Mark 14:12–25; Luke 22:7–38; and I Corinthians 11:23–25). The letters of the St. Paul the Apostle and the Acts of the A ... read more
Life is?? #341 " to Do " vs " It is Finished "

** Under the Old Covenant, men approached God through a priest, while under the New Covenant, we have direct access to the Father through Jesus Christ. **
** ” to Do ” vs ” It is Finished ”
Matthew 26:28
”For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
MATTHEW 26:27-29
The principle of the Old Covenant was ”do” and you shall live. The principle of the New Covenant is ”it is done,” and includes redemption, reconciliation, righteousness, and sanctification.
The work is finished! We are complete in Him!
If the Old Covenant had no defects, there would have been no attempt to institute another (Heb. 8:7). In the Old Covenant, men found themselves unable to abide in its agr ... read more
