Pointless?   18 y
Why am I still writing in this blog?

Sometimes writing in this blog...still... seems pointless. I mean, I haven’t come up with a cure or anything new and wonderful. I do feel pretty good that it seems as though my personal experiences may have helped some people out a little bit and I’m grateful for that. It was nice to share my experiences too, things like this are such a stigma it’s hard about to talk to even the person you care most about, it’s nice to be able to anonymously ’spill my guts’ so to speak. and.... I thank you all for listening and reading. The femdophilus doesn’t really seem to be working all that well ...   read more

Femdophilus - Update   18 y
I'm still working on it!

I’ve been taking this stuff for the last 4 days, I am starting to have some BV odor now, for the last 2 days. This is about the time I would normally do the Vitamin C, and I haven’t because I wanted a true feel for how well the Femdophilus works. But, as anyone who has this chronic problem knows, 2 days of this odor is 2 too many. I will probably do a Vitamin C tonight becuase the FemD isn’t working well enough or fast enough. I’ll continue to take it - the purpose of it is to recolonize the vagina with good bacteria so if it really works, I’ll never have the symptoms of again after ...   read more

Just Started a new treatment...   18 y
FemDophilus

FemDophilus as suggested to me in an earlier comment by Sapphire 20. See http://curezone.com/blogs/c/c.asp?d=7290 I ordered some of this from ProVitamins. At $18.94, the cost was very reasonable. The bottle arrived in a plain box - not refigerated - though the bottle says to store under refrigeration. Shipping was super-fast, it arrived in 2 days. It’s an oral capsule meant to recolonize the intestinal tract and vagina with healthy strains of lactobacillus. It contains 2 specific strains, which I have not yet done any research on. I started taking them this morning (althoug ...   read more

A Bit more on the subject of Doctors...   18 y
Educate Yourself!

I wonder sometimes (most times) if these doctors even know what they’re doing, what the effects are of these drugs they’re pushing. I mean, do they even do any research, any reading after they graduate from Medical school? Are they required to stay abreast of the latest developments and occurrences in the world of medicine? I’m asking because honestly I don’t know! I know things change quickly but if I were a gynecologist, I would want to read about things that I didn’t know about or understand things better that I wasn’t clear on. I’d want to know all the effects of all the drugs I rou ...   read more

So Frustrated!   18 y
I'm tired of doctors.

This is so frustrating! I thought I had these problems at least under control and now that I’ve had the IUD put in, the BV is back. Not worse than ever... the worst it got was after numerous rounds of antibiotics to cure it (silly doctors). The problem now is that the Vitamin C doesn’t seem to be working so good. I remember when it was at its worst I had to do 3 or 4 consecutive days of Vitamin C treatment and then every couple of months I’ve had to do a single treatment to keep it under control and non-bothersome. I went in for my 4-week checkup after they inserted the IUD and she coul ...   read more

IUD insertion - Recurrence, after so long   18 y
Had an IUD inserted and stopped taking the pill. Seems to have upset the balance of things.

I finally decided to go off the pill for good. Due to possible hormonal problems, acne and weird cycle changes like menopause (I’m only 31), so I had a copper IUD inserted about 3 weeks ago. First let me say, Wow - that really hurt. After the first week or so of healing time I noticed a recurrence of BV. It seemed to come on really fast - fine one day and the next, well, it was obvious by the odor. I’m assuming that having someone messing around up there caused a bacterial imbalance, which I’m prone to anyway. All of our ’female hygenic’ practices are so INVASIVE! I mean, who was really ...   read more

As close to a cure as I need   19 y
The End...

As far as I can tell, I have come as close to finding a cure as I needed to. I will consider any further treatments to simply be a maintenance issue. Since I began this blog I have used a Vitamin C treatment twice as mentioned in these pages and I am discharge and odor free. I can thankfully, have sex again without having to worry about anything. I don’t know if I’m 100% back to normal or not but I do know that I have found MUCH relief compared to how things were 6 months ago. I am concluding this blog with this message.   visit the page

more on Ear Candling.. sorry off topic   19 y
Ear Candling has proven, for me, to be an unnecessary risk

Did one more Vitamin C last week and all is well. We decided we might try ear candling again, I have read up on it since. We got some new ear candles, they were 100% beeswax, I did one on my boyfriend and came out with a lot of yellow wax. As it burned down I could see runnels of wax dripping down the inside of the cone through the material. Because of the doubts I had after reading I went ahead and burned one in my hand, cupping it around the end so as to create a vacuum such as it might in your ear. What I came out with in the end was the very same amount of identical yellow wax and e ...   read more

A little over a month   19 y
Vitamin C works better than anything else so far.

I finally had to treat again, I made it a little over a month. I don’t know, either, if the birth control had anything to do with it but I think a month from a 2-day treatment is pretty good.   visit the page

Ear Candling   19 y
Ear Candling

I know this is completely off the subject of the blog I’m writing but since it’s here for me and I’m not having other problems at the moment i’m going to write about it. I did ear candling for the first time this weekend. I’ve had an excruciating pain in my right ear/throat/jaw for about 6-8 months now. I’ve been to the doctor and he said there was no infection so he couldn’t give me antibiotics (I didn’t want them anyway) and he could see some built up fluid but I should just take some sinus meds. and dry it up. I tried that but it didn’t work at all except to make me wired and nerv ...   read more

21 Days!!!   19 y
.... of freedom, yay!

Well, according to my Blog, here, it has been 21 days since I’ve had symptoms. That is really exciting. It may have been that long last time but I wasn’t keeping track like I am now. So, my period came and went and the odor didn’t return. Also, have had sex and the odor has not returned. I began taking my Birth control pills again last Sunday (May 8, Mother’s Day) and I’m sure it will take some time to determine if that will have a negative effect on my efforts. Best case scenario would be that each time I do the treatment I get more and more symptom free time in between. Eventually ...   read more

Birth Control Pills   19 y
...and a short Vit C update

Well I started taking them again yesterday and I’ve been edgy and irritable ever since. Maybe moods, maybe all in my head. I’m afraid that the pill is a bad idea, I just have this inherent feeling that it’s going to make matters worse, I have the BV pretty under control, I only have to treat it about once a month and it’s tolerable at least. My boyfriend would like it if i was on the pill again though, he’s not putting pressure on me but our sex life seems to be ’hurting’ because of it. I think he’s preoccupied with the possibility of me getting pregnant and he’s not ready for that yet. Th ...   read more

The Birth Control Issue   19 y
Do Birth Control Pills have any effect on BV symptoms?

I quit taking my birth control pills in about September after reading that birth control seems to contribute to causing BV by upsetting your bodies natural chemistry and that taking them for 10 years plus makes you more susceptible to BV and CAndida problems. Unfortunately, not taking them makes you susceptible to pregnancy. I’ve talked with my boyfriend and decided to start taking them again. It didn’t make any difference whatsoever to healing my BV when I stopped taking them and I have been off of them for 8 months now. If it hasn’t helped by now i don’t think it’s going to. I’m curio ...   read more

Effectiveness of Vitamin C treatment   19 y
Update...

Well, it has been a little over a week since I used the vitamin C. That was the evening of the 19th and 20th, and then I stopped. Today, on the 29th, I still have improved symptoms and no odor. It has been a little over a week with no odor. Have to see how long that lasts. If it will last up to 2 - 3 weeks it would be worth a 2 day treatment once a month to treat the worst symptom. The rest is manageable. It will be hard to tell for sure because I am due to start my period soon and that will have an effect on my progress. Still, a week of freedom! I’m a little excited.   visit the page

Interesting article...   19 y
To douche or not to douche, that is the question

I ran across an interesting article called: Douching and Bacterial Vaginosis: the cart or the horse? Here is the link, but the most important part of the medical mumbo-jumbo is the last paragraph, copied below. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/452423 Sort of the same question I asked regarding sexually active women vs. younger girls. (Do sexually active women have BV more often or do they just go to the GYN more often?) The question below is Do women who douche get BV more often or do women who have BV douche more often in an attempt to cover the odor? Compelling question be ...   read more

New BV Medicine in the works.   19 y
Article / News Release for new BV Treatment

Here’s something very interesting and hopeful. The fact that it was developed by Sharon Hillier is especially encouraging as she is the foremost expert in her field on BV. The downside to this is you can already see the dollar signs! http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=105&STORY=/www/story/01-24-...   visit the page
