A Bit more on the subject of Doctors...

Educate Yourself!

I wonder sometimes (most times) if these doctors even know what they're doing, what the effects are of these drugs they're pushing. I mean, do they even do any research, any reading after they graduate from Medical school? Are they required to stay abreast of the latest developments and occurrences in the world of medicine?

I'm asking because honestly I don't know! I know things change quickly but if I were a gynecologist, I would want to read about things that I didn't know about or understand things better that I wasn't clear on. I'd want to know all the effects of all the drugs I routinely prescribed and I'd want to know the details of the procedures I was performing.

When I had my IUD put in she told me 'don't worry, you'll feel a little crampy, take some Ibuprofen, you'll be back at work in an hour or so.' Well, let me tell you it was a whole lot more serious than that! I should have had someone drive me I felt so weak and sick! I had to lay in her office for 20 mins. before I even had the strength to get dressed again. I nearly fainted several times, I kept having to sit down and regain my equilibrium. She was so confused 'I've never had anyone react this way!' I actually felt guilty for being such a wuss! Furthermore no one ever mentioned to me that an IUD increased the chances of BV - had she told me that I probably would have decided against it. Instead here I am with this thing in me and my only thought was that I hope they don't have to take it out because it hurt so much having it put in I don't want to go through that again.

When I got home I read the insert fully and it stated right there in the literature that nausea, vomiting and fainting upon insertion and removal were common reactions! It also said that problems with BV were common! I told her that I have had issues with BV in the past and had it under control at the time... Does she even KNOW anything about the product she's using!!??!

I think the answer is no. They are told to peddle this stuff and don't really waste the time to try and learn what it is they're being told to do.

I took my daughter to her pediatrician for an ear infection. I have done quite a bit of reading about fluoride - I know that fluoride is used in many antibiotics because it makes the effects stronger, it is also watched closely for liver and heart toxicity and many fluoridated drugs have been pulled from the shelves because they killed too many people. Several more are under 'investigation' whatever that means. You know the names: Phen-Fen, Baycol, Cisapride-Propulsid, Posicor. Those are the ones that have been pulled from the shelves... there are more too.

Others still in use: fluoridated antibiotics include: enoxacin, fleroxacin, temafloxacin, grepafloxacin, norfloxacin, sparfloxacin, tosufloxacin, lomefloxacin, ofloxacin, etc..
Paxil
Cipro
Diflucan
Prozac

They are so numerous and common that you'd think any doctor would have a good handle on this information! My daughter's pediatrician was prepared to write a prescription for Ofloxacin (hearing the "flox" in the name clued me in) and I told her I didn't want a fluoridated antibiotic... she had NO CLUE what I was talking about! She asked me which antibiotics were unfluoridated that she could prescribe!!

That is so ridiculous I think it's all I can say on the subject, except - if you don't educate yourself, no one else will look out for you and your family... it's up to you!
