Blog Description Random thoughts throughout my recovery from entering into a legal, binding contract of marriage to a second sociopath.
For more information on sociopathy, psychopathy, trauma-bonding, shame-core, and the ravages that a family member or friend visits upon those who love and care about them when they choose to "offend," whether they are charged and convicted, or not, please visit the following sites: http://www.180rule.com - discusses sociopathy and recovery http://www.familyarrested.com - discusses the carnages wrought by an offender, and how to recover from the emotional and legal damages More importantly, we do not "know" what the percentage truly is with regard to predatory human beings moving in the populace. Fifteen years ago, it was estimated that no less than 4% of the human population were predators: sociopaths, or psychopaths. Today, that number has been revised to a conservative estimate of 22%. This means that 22 out of every 100 people that we pass on the street, in a store, at an airport, in the workplace, and in our own family are disordered predators. I made the grave mistake of marrying not just one sociopath, but a second one, as well. The first spouse was abusive, on every level imaginable. The second predator targeted me for money and, when he had used that money up through coercion, fraud, and outright forgeries, I was discarded in a heinous manner. Today, I'm in recovery from my experiences through hard emotional and physical work with a counseling therapist that "gets it" about the traumas that I've experienced. My task is to become emotionally healthy, physically healthy, and spiritually healthy. It is also a personal mandate for me to educate others about the disordered and predatory human beings that are growing at an exponential rate. One of the best "defenses" against predatory human beings it to accept the fact that they exist, that they have always existed, and that they will forever exist as long as human beings remain on this earth. The next line of defense is KNOWLEDGE of how these predators operate, and setting up personal boundaries that are immobile for everyone, across the board, whether they are family, friend, lover, spouse, coworker, supervisor, educator, or religious leader. |
