I am avery happy to find this site.  I am married happily with 2 boys aged 12 and 14. I inserted the mirena in Jan 2006. I was fine for the first 6 months or was too busy (had to take care of ailling in-laws) to notice. Now I seem to be in mood swings, having tender breast nearly everyday, not getting my periods from the moment I had it. Very happy at first but now I feel uncomfortable. As much as I hate my periods, I feel it is necessary for us to go thru the natural process. I feel my legs in pain!! I have mode swings which are bad. I have to force myself to smile. I am always tired, angry and depressed and do feel like ending my life!!!!!!!!! I do not have the urge to have sex and yes sex is painful.  I have serious left shoulder pain which refuses to go away. I am right-handed and do all work with right-hand I thought I was crazy or something is wrong with me but now I can say that it is mirena that is to be blamed. I had the copper IUD for 5 years, the first 6 months were though (only pain and heavy bleeding) but later on a breeze. When it was time to change, I told the doc that iron levels were low (3). He suggested that with mirena I would not lose much blood ..... so that is why  I decided to go with it. Yes  weight is also a problem. Am putting on extras easily. I am seriously thinking of removing it before anything happens to me.
